Wolves Academy Thread

If you watch the England u17s and 18s you'll notice this too. There's a lot of talent coming through!

Went to see my old adult side I managed on Saturday as they've moved to some extremely nice pitches right near our house and I wanted to take some photos, pitch next to us looked like u15 or u16, think the home side was Chesterfield but they seemed to be playing Barnsley, people from our side were pretty much in awe at the ability on show, every time a defender was under pressure they played it back to the keeper who most of the time was playing one touch into someones feet.

U23's take on Flum tonight - Managed by Darren Ryan and Seyi

SQUAD: Burgoyne, Beasley, Deslandes, Odoffin, Breslin, Upton, Leak, Ronan, Finnie, Rainey, Levingston, Herc, Wilson, Carnat, Delacoe, Randall, Ennis, Enobakhare.

Carnat hasn't featured for a while.

I really would rather see Ronan or Herc on the first team bench than Saville.

He was injured at the start of the season I think. He's been around the recent squads.

Carnat scored last week didn't he?

Surely Dicko should be playing tonight?

Probably starting on Saturday, so no.

On the game - Went 3 up in the first half and then threw it away (3 Fulham 2nd half goals in 13 mins) and then for lolz we bagged the winner straight after Fulham thought they had got something from the game - 4-3 FT (Bright 2, Deslandes, Randall)

Bright getting some rave reviews tonight....infront of a watching Jeff.

I think it is more an ethos of growth from within. I've heard they want academy prospects getting first team opportunities.

The less they have to invest in buying players, the greater the profit when we go up. Simples.

I've argued this before - the most sensible model, if you can get it to work, is Chelsea's. Hoover up young players from the UK and across the world for the academy with money that doesn't count towards FFP, then sell them when they're 20-22 for profit which offsets transfers for the main team. Abramovich barely has to inject anything these days. Man City will be there soon too with their direct clone of La Masia.

If Fosun are smart their long-term plan will be something similar.

Erick Thohir
"We picked De Boer because we want to follow the Ajax model. We have invested a lot in the youth sector, we want to focus on youth."
"It would be beautiful to see Miangue, Gnoukouri, Radu, Dimarco make the first team next year. We'll be back among the top 10 soon."

Thorir said this on 21st Sept. Has sacked his coach just over a month later.

Would have hoped Evans would be given a runout in this one.
