Wolves Academy Thread

Dunno, I’m wondering if it was the right call not to go for an interview yesterday, because a bloke offered me a job, from an interview last week that he’d confirm later via email, which I’m still waiting for.

Campbell and Cundle would be better comparison to Maddison I think.

League 2 strugglers Donny Rovers isn't a good sign.
As you refer to Cundle, I thought I would check up on his data and compare with Scott. I have seen Cundle on my U21 links in the past and he was running the show with able support from the likes of Hodge. For those of you more ITK my question is why is Cundle not really talked about and in the frame for our first team squad next season? Is it too early to ask? Scott would cost apparently around 20 million, Cundle is free and already committed to our cause. Both in the Championship, Scott is 20 in August and Cundle is just 21, Scott has scored 1 in 42 as an 'offensive midfielder' and Cundle has scored 3 in 32 from I guess a similar position. Why the difference in valuation? Do we really need another non-scoring midfielder? I must be missing something but there again I am a Wolves fan and not a high level coach.

I agree with everything you've written.

I think Cundle would be fantastic in the 10 role.

Scott can play deeper and also wide, Cundle is a 10/ 8 and needs a striker in front of him. He's a goal scorer and creator and I think Lop might like him in pre-season if he's given a chance.

If I'm greedy I'd like both Scott and Cundle, Scott has the ability to do what Nunes does on the right and that's useful when you have Bueno, only Scott can also get in the box and shoot.

It still means we need a striker (Sanabria would be just the type we need) first and foremost to play with these creative types.

I do rate Cundle, however he played all his best Academy football off a striker and we've just paid close on £50m for Cunha to do that. Not sure he gets in a Wolves central midfield however we set up (he is immensely better than Hodge but that's by the by).

Don't get me wrong I think Cundle is off the bench for when Cunha inevitably gets knackered. At least 30 minutes a game and probably the right number of minutes for him right now.

I agree with the striker bit.

Our U21 team will once again be taking part in the Europa Conference, sorry! Papa John's EFL Trophy
We will play away games v the following in our Group

Derby, Lincoln & Notts County

Proved your post too, Newcastle away under Lage he was anonymous until Wood scored the penalty and then he was pushed up and really came alive and was at the centre of us suddenly deciding we could attack.

Then Lage played him for a whole 5 minutes for the rest of the season, when we were 5-1 down to Man City. Great management.

Pond and Fraser linked with Shrewsbury. Think that would be a good move for them. Decent level for their ability and both should cope with the physicality of the league.

Swansea are getting Duff as manager, I don't think I'd be sending many players there. He's a bit direct.

Dates for the games at Notts County and Derby County have been pencilled in, while confirmation on the Lincoln fixture will follow in due course.

The youngsters will make the trip to Meadow Lane on Tuesday 12th September, 7:45pm, to take on the Magpies who returned to the EFL through the National League play-offs last season following a four-year absence.

And the Old Gold will then go head-to-head with Derby at Pride Park on Tuesday 7th November, with a 7pm kick-off.
