Wolves Academy Thread

Just a quick one to recognise that Fin Ashworth was recently presented with a Wolves award that is named in recognition of my sadly long departed brother, Mick Shaw. It is for 'the first-year scholar who has achieved excellent academic results whilst demonstrating the exceptional football skills required to become a full-time apprentice'. Muchas gracias Julen!

As Wednesfield lads, Mick and I travelled the length and breadth of the country following Wolves. We also hitch hiked to the World Cup in Spain in 1982 taking a big homemade WWFC Cross of St George flag that was well remembered at a time when the Union Jack was still prevalent.

The detail is at the bottom of this link which, of course, starts with Owen Farmer's well deserved Academy Player of the Season award: https://academy.wolves.co.uk/news/farmer-scoops-awards-double/

Newcastle in talks to sign Leo Shahar from us. Anyone seen him play?

Knowing Me, Knowing You, Shahar.

He's only just turned 16 and played a few for the U18s (I haven't seen any). Born on the day that we drew 2-2 at Hillsborough and Andy Keogh scored in the last minute. Crikey.

Thought he'd be better than that but at 19 and the poison he plays I think he may be Taylor Perry in ability.
Let's see, I don't think he's outgrown u21s yet so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. He's looked decent but had some injuries which have hampered him.

He's done ok but not looked at the same level as Campbell or Cundle. He may flourish late but wingers tend to be the opposite.

Not sure that's fair. At 19 James Maddison was a bit part player for Coventry in League One.
Campbell and Cundle would be better comparison to Maddison I think.

League 2 strugglers Donny Rovers isn't a good sign.
