Great goal by Bright. Actually prefer his goal to the Sunderland wonder strike.
Great to see them celebrating at the end as well.

Funny how the U23 squads keep getting drawn against each other isn't it.....
Mansfield Town v Walsall or Oldham
Luton v Chesterfield
Oxford v Scunthorpe
Blackpool v Wycombe
Cheltenham or Leicester U21 v Bradford
Yeovil v Southampton U21 or Reading U21
Coventry v Brighton U21
Swansea U21 v Wolves U21
I disagree. Yes Bright took his goal very well, but he should never have been allowed to turn like that. I thought it was fairly ordinary defending.
The defending was garbage! The defending was forced by Bright keeping the ball off the ground. The defender would have had a very difficult time doing anything more than he did without conceding a penalty. He made the right choice, IMO, trusting his goalkeeper behind him.
Luckily for us, Bright had enough skill to take Mannone out of the equation.
It was a brilliant piece of attacking play, and made the defender look poor, rather than poor defending making Bright look good.
More often than not a batman's average drops when made captain. I'd rather Cook steps down after next winters Ashes than now and play the Aussies without the additional pressure on Root.
Are our games so dull that they now resemble a cricket match???!I'm not sure Cook's the answer to our problems in midfield though.
Johnny wouldn't let something like that slip
