Wolves 6-1 Shrewsbury. FA Cup 3rd Round Verdict Thread.

Can't draw too many conclusions from it as they were rank bad and looked like they'd struggle in the Conference.

But it was efficient with a couple of nice goals, didn't expend too much energy, got Rodrigo back on the pitch, no injuries or red cards and could have had 10.

On to next week, Newcastle are beatable when they're not on their own turf. Keep it going.

Good little confidence booster.

JSL played with the right attitude. Might get a few more bob for him. Still don`t get Arias.

Tchats still schit.

Lucky to have got a draw like this, really helpful. Good win, get some confidence in the squad. Shrewsbury are a really bad side, most of their players looked National League level. Means we had lots of opportunity to shine, even Hwang and Arias got a lot of time on the ball and were good. We were playing a lot of balls through the defence, Shrewsbury struggled with this hugely. Lopez was decent off the bench too because Shrewsbury give loads of time on the ball, but the game is over at this point anyway and they are just letting play. Mane with an excellent ball to create the chance for the last goal, Andre and Joao Gomes so dominant in the middle.

There was one moment where Shrewsbury had a decent chance with the defence asleep, off the line by Bueno. Otherwise... pretty comfortable for the defence, Krejci, Doherty, Bueno, all fine. Need to see the penalty again because to me it didn't look a foul or in the box but doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. If they hadn't handed us a third goal on a plate maybe it would have.

Only player who wasn't good (apart from Johnstone with nothing to do except penalty) is Tchatchoua. Right now you'd have to say this sort of opposition must be his level. Lima should start next game, not enough time to do anything today.

Hat trick for Strand Larsen, goals for Arias, R Gomes and Arokodare, good performances all round and a win. Hopefully some more momentum for points!

Tchatchoua was pretty poor for most of the game, outpaced several times by Sam Clucas FFS.

He offers nothing, absolutely appalling signing.

Yep, ability is terrible. His mythical pace doesn't exist, especially on the ball. Worse still he can't even do basics, must have only found someone once with a cross all game.

There was one moment when Doherty gives him the ball with the intention of a one-two for a run, he ignores him to try and play it to Arias on his left and passes it straight out of play between the two. I thought as the game went on it was noticeable that the team tried to not give him the ball.

Had a few stinkers under Fosun but in terms of ability must be one of the worst we've signed, if not the.

I'd say Gladon was worse but he was 10% of the price

If you count Hodge as a signing then him too, I wouldn't have him in a pub team, but again he was free

I'm 53 and never played higher than average Sunday League, but if you put me on a months fitness regime to lose a bit of timber I too could stand half way in the oppositions half, miscontrol the ball with my first touch and then lay it off backwards or sideways, whilst being wildly out of position defensively. The worst PL player of the Fosun era by a mile.

Gladon at least put his fee back in the local economy with his visits to Penn Tandoori... not sure if Tchatchoua contributes anywhere. But all three of those are good contenders.

You could argue Ola John as well although I'd put him above Tchatchoua/Hodge/Gladon, plus it was only a loan.

We all make mistakes at work but the announcer giving the final goal to 5 foot 7 white, 9½ stone wet through Rodrigo instead of 6 foot 6 black, built like a brick outhouse Tolo is some effort
I used to work with that guy 20 odd years ago.

Always been a bit odd. He was also behind this abomination:

We're Wolverhampton Wanderers baby,
Remember times of old,
Billy Wright and Stevie Bull,
Scoring loads of goals,
But now the tide and times are changing,
We're gonna get it right,
Now get up on your feet and sing it,
Until the morning light!

Cause it's Hi Ho Wolverhampton,
Let's score some goals, now baby,
You'll see the good times coming,
We'll be on a roll,
Cause we're the Wanderers!

We're Wolverhampton Wanderers baby,
We're wearing Gold and Black,
We're gonna take the game right to ya,
An all out attack,
We need you all to get behind us,
And cheer us on,
So stand up tall and raise your voices,
And sing on and on!

Cause it's Hi Ho Wolverhampton,
Let's score some goals, now baby,
You'll see the good times coming,
We'll be on a roll,
Cause we're the Wanderers!

We're Wolverhampton Wanderers baby,
Who the hell are you?
We're gonna take the game right to ya,
Nothing you can do,
So get back on your bus and go home,
The three points are ours,
Now get up on your feet and sing it,
And sing it proud!

Lasted exactly one game at the start of 2006/07.

Like a training game, easy as it gets but who cares, after so much misery at Molineux it was nice to see us score a few goals. Shrewsbury were no kind of match at all. Great to see a hat-trick for JSL, Mane was excellent when he came on and good for Rodrigo Gomes to score on his return though not the brace that the announcer announced! Felt sorry for their keeper (only 19) maybe the biggest game he will play in and commits a howler, nice touch that JSL went over to him after he had celebrated

When I was much younger I used to sing.

Hi Ho Wolverhampton
Everywhere we go there's aggro
I see you boots need shining
In a Shit fans face there a fucking disgrace...

Helps with the confidence as well, all of a sudden we’re unbeaten in four games and still undefeated this year
Until The North East Synchronised Diving Team and stretched Rudi Voeller literally roll into town next week
