Wolves 4-0 Watford - Verdict Thread

I've given Lage a lot of flak lately so only fair to credit him for instilling the major change we needed, an actual tempo in our play and a plan when we go forward rather than just hoping for the best.

Make no mistake, Watford were truly appalling. I think that's the worst performance I've seen against us from any team when we've played in the Premier League going back to 2003. No heart, no fight and didn't seem to realise what we struggle against. A genuine 0/10. But that shouldn't detract from our quality (as much as they let us play).

Boly really does set the tone with his aggressive nature and the way he attacks the ball. We have missed him so much - give him the last 10 games to see if his body will stand up to the Premier League for at least another year. The midfield two absolutely ran it. Raul looking much more on his game, Jonny looking more and more like we know he can be. Podence blows hot and cold and you never quite know if it'll be a good day or a bad day - very much the former today.

A big thanks to Ben 40ster, that'll be your last top flight game at Molineux mate. Stick that on your shit YouTube channel, square face.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening all round.

As an aside, we've only had two own goals in our favour this season, both against Watford. And both put in from crosses from our left wing-back. Marcal in the away game, Ait-Nouri tonight.

Firstly, how lucky are we to have that number 8 in our side 😍 my God, what a player...

Yes, Watford were dreadful, but fuck those gloating FA Cup Foster Deulofeu Deeney cunts, I savour every win against them now. Hope this demoralises them into rapid freefall and oblivion.

Not a bad performance in the team, great reaction from the players and manager.

Jonny and Boly slipped back in as if they'd never been away. The former will rightly get the plaudits, but is it me or did Willy literally not put a foot wrong? I'd forgotten just how imperious he can be. Won everything, still has that little burst of pace too.

Podence had one of his excellent games again, loved Coady's 'just fucking HEAD IT', but I want to talk about Ruben again. That tackle just on half-time... inspirational. And just when I thought we'd lost the opportunity to deservedly extend the lead which justified our dominance... That chip.

The sight of mouthy Foster scrabbling back forlornly... icing on the cake.

Hope you guys who were there had a night to remember

Loved it mate. It was epic. Now to push on with the next few games.
Glad you've got your Wolves mojo back after last weeks wobble
Loving reading about how good Jonny (my fav Nuno era player) and Boly were, I realise Watford were terrible but a 4-0 win is a 4-0 win

Pretty tired after all that but what a great, and often hilarious, game. Yep, fair play to Bruno for getting the conviction I was hoping to see. Can only echo others in saying how good it was to see Boly back and immediately making an impression on the game and our tempo.

Bovril back in the BW too.

Have Watford sacked Roy yet?

After our performance last week and the previous 2 or 3 games and how they caused Arsenal problems at times on Sunday I was convinced a 4th defeat in a row was incoming.
Then expected a 2nd half where they at least made an effort and pushed us back....christ they were shit.
Thankfully our body language was better, played with energy and some imagination in our forward play.
Welcome back Boly....don't let him go Wolves.

Usually have my brother sat next to me but he decided against attending last night so I had Dan join me for the 2nd half. The last time that happened, Neves scored that goal v Derby.
So trying to convince my brother to do one now, so I get to see Neves score every home game...

MOTM - Foster. Gave us everything and got an assist.

Just two words..........'..Willy Boly '. That's all .

He'll stay in the team for sure now in the short term at least . Watford provided little opposition , but it was the kind of game he needed to resurrect his career . Everton away next should provide him with a bigger challenge , then Leeds and so on .
If he plays well against Everton it would be hard to drop him from then on .

Fantastic to see him back.....and then there was Jonny .

When playing teams close to the bottom 3 , or in the bottom 3 , you can really upset them early by pressing high from the word go and hopefully scoring early . They get nervous then and mistakes happen quicker than they should . Everton and Leeds are in the exact same boat .

Boly has historically struggled against Everton and Richarlison. Chance to put that right.

Recorded the game from Sky and am now watching it.
Good to see but totally ruined by the banal commentary.
Absolute drivel.

Bit of an exaggeration 😆 but they are doing my head in 🥱
Did they use the Jacqui Oatley commentary (that was on the streams)? I thought she was OK; barely concealed her delight at Foster's miserable night and actually laughed at the SB wanker gestures when he was nearly lobbed the second time. As for the so-called analyst David Whoever, well, 'I have to say' he was fucking useless.

BBC comms had Curtis Davies on it, he was good, and both he and the main comms seemed to take great delight in the stick Foster was getting.

Davies was on the pitch for Neves's goal against Derby, and was purring over his goal last night.

You really should watch the replay if you can. After the torture of the last few games it's sheer luxury for the eyes. I might put it on a loop for my screensaver.
