Wolves 4-0 Watford - Verdict Thread

Watford are poor but we still had to beat them and beat them we did! I haven't been so relaxed in-game in ages. Helps though when you go three up by HT! Apart from the number of goals, other pleasing aspects were the return of Boly, Bruno subs, all attacking and not a Trincao or Dedoncker in sight, that lovely Neves goal and of course Foster having a mare! If only Podence had put a bit more on that one in the second half! UTW!

Also going to chip in with the intelligent play from Chiquinho on the Neves goal. When that poor cross got to him, the obvious thing to do is head it back across goal but I think we had 1 v 3 on the edge of the 6 yard area so well played for the knock down header. Don't think Neves was the target but that goal doesn't happen without him being aware of the situation.

There was a tackle halfway through the second where Dennis (maybe?) just bounced off Boly like it was 2019. Great to see him back, looks in fine shape
Yep Boly has that strength that none of our other CBs have. Very difficult to get past. Great to see him back. We are in a good place re CBs. Would still like to see an upgrade to Coady (ducks for cover).

I thought we dominated the game but we didn't really make that many clear cut chances
Agreed. Given we play again Sunday and it would have taken Watford until at least Easter to draw level I think it is understandable.

I think (and it's a bit daft given the result and Neves goal) that was my favourite moment of the game, it was absolutely divine.

And just no arrogance or flashiness about him, he just behaves as if it's the most normal thing in the world, with the time he's been out, was just brilliant.
Also add in, he fucks that up and they potientally have a 1 on 1 in the 47th min and nice boost right on half time. Killer touch

He's a decent cyclist, tbf to him 😏
I'm fortunate enough never to watch any of his videos. I didn't really know they were that popular.

On the subject of cycling I'm surprised professional footballers are allowed to cycle given that if they come off they could be out for quite a while.

Judging by last night's performance, that's probably what Watford are hoping for...

I love Jonny, my fav player of recent years (I may have mentioned this ad nauseum in the past)
No histrionics, nothing flashy, apart from that take down last night, just gets quietly on with his job, never less than 7-10 (usually more).
Mr reliable every time he plays. I just pray he can stay fit for a few years and stays with us till the end of his career.

His videos are alright, gives a bit of an insight into the prep and post match experience of players which IS interesting.

But as DW says there's no way i'd want a Wolves player doing it, it must be a distraction.

Injury time was a nonsense again last night.

2 mins in the second half, there were 5(?) subs, a goal and the time it took taking the piss out of Foster. It's annoying if not important.
