Wolves 3 - Brentford 0 a standard day at Molineux this year verdict thread

How many does he have now mate? Paddy & I were discussing exactly that in Boho.

9, been booked 4 times since his ban against Brentford, Bristol, Sheff Wed and Ipswich

I had a few grumbles at Doherty tbh. Few times he was just behind a nice ball to him and didn't even make it. He's too slow man

Yesterday's was such a needless booking too, no need to pull the guy back. Boly's yellow was very harsh I thought

It wasn't! He proper body checked him, the poor lads organs will still be vibrating this morning

So 1 away from a 2 game ban.

Win on Saturday and then target a yellow in a game before the 4th round and we miss him for 1 League game....

Yeah he did step across him and knock the guy flat

Thanks! Paddy was right then.

In his defence, it was the wind that was making things difficult for him. Especially in the first half. Those long raking diagonal balls to him were being caught on the wind and floating too far in front of him or straight out of play. Was a different story in the second half when the wind was helping hold up the flight of the ball keeping it in play and allowing Doc to read the flight a bit easier.

the wind may have played a part, but he didn't seem ready at all for a pass (he should know by now what we usually do though) and didn't seemed arsed to run. his crossing is still diabolical for a player given so much time and space - we really need better delivery fom him, or someone else.

Not having Doc's effort faulted yesterday - that's the definition of seeing something to fit an existing agenda.

If the boy could cross he'd actually be our most important and dangerous player though

Totally agree. He doesn't stick out as a weak link, which in a team full of quality playing as well as we are is quite the turnaround for him. Delighted for him TBH and I hope he keeps it going.

Happy to be proved wrong, but I have a feeling that Costa doesn't fit Nuno's system and is better as an out and out winger.

Also nice to hear people found it to be a good stadium to visit, with friendly stewards etc. The club are getting a lot of things right at the moment.

A nice read. I've got a lot of time for Brentford - enjoyed the trip there in August, pleasant bunch of fans, some good pubs nearby too. Although this made me laugh:

Straight from the independent this morning.

Apparently ex Brentford player jota scored against us last night. Why bother with a report when you have never watched the best team in the championship play this season and are clueless on quite basic things.

Was concerned about him when we had 11 men against Bristol as it looked like he was having to defend more and struggling, which suggests to me he will struggle next season when we'll need to defend more. Going forward he has been excellent.

Ive said it all season, Costa cant play across the forward line. Jota, Cav and even Bright can. Times have changed and sentiment shouldnt come into it.

Yeah, one of my more local clubs and have a couple of mates who go regularly. The only place I've been where I felt OK as a Wolves fan in the home end.

I heard a couple of sirens last night and said, "I wonder what they are for I can't see Brentford causing trouble."

Had a great day down there when we were in League 1.
