Wolves 2-1 Arsenal: Verdict Thread

This is reasonably fair

Still a lot of work to be done - hopefully they will be able to properly work at it and settle things down a bit rather than chopping and changing back and forth

I've been screaming for weeks that we need to manage games better and thankfully we did so - maybe over-did it a bit against 9 men but given the run we've been on I can't blame them.

Hopefully some confidence restored and they can play with a bit more freedom and purpose.

Hmmm. Pick the bones out of that.

A truly awful 45 minutes then Arsenal decide to cut their own throats. Well, that is their problem and not mine. We just needed any kind of win.

On the positive side, Moutinho was excellent as was Vitinha when he came on.

Negatives...well. Loads of them. Kilman genuinely looked like a parks player. Adama's effort levels were awful in the first half. Podence still doesn't do enough. We never get bodies around José. Semedo was appalling for the goal.

But hey, we won. That's all we needed. How many times have I said we played ok after a defeat? Well, for the most part we didn't here and we won. That's football.
Moutinho was rubbish for 45 minutes but his wonder goal clearly lifted him & rightly so.

I was at villa park one tame header from Richards and thoroughly outplayed. Aggro everywhere before and after
Was in some of the latter after. Ended up having to do boxing on match days for 6 weeks. Bastards...

For all the talk of 11 v 9 in the second half it was 10 v 11 in the first. Traore might as well have been stood on a plinth he was so statuesque. There was one run Pod made where he just stood and watched when there was loads of space to run into down the wing. Hopefully the second half will kick start his season, it's long overdue.

Prove it...#FAKENEWS

Not lofty, just want to avoid another pointless argument between posters after our first win in a billion years
That's fair.

I just genuinely wonder what the more negative posters think when we win, that's all

I've thought for a few weeks Traore wants out. The contract situation is very unWolves under Fosun

I did mention this a few weeks ago, if he'd have gone in this last window I wouldn't have been shocked

They say that luck evens itself out over the season - I think we had every single piece of luck due this season in one game!

I didn't expect a win, or even frankly a contest, but that's how football can go sometimes.

Huge result

Let's have Semedo and Hoever as our fullbacks though in the next game
Arsenal have had more than their fair share of luck against us over the years. I remember when Fàbregas should have been sent off at home some years ago - fairly late on admittedly.. Disgusting decision by the referee when we were fighting hard. We lost 2-1.

Apart from the defeat all I remember of that day (as a 7 year old) was the constant flow of blood soaked people being carried out of the Holte end.

Karma strikes with us for once! The man whose done so much damage to our season (apart from whoever sanctioned Doc and Jota sale) Luiz finally gets the red he deserves, VAR on outside for once, first referee making the big decisions in our favour for once! I don’t care 3 points and a draw v Leicester saves us 👍🏻

Some people wrote this game off yesterday, and i had serious doubts. But hey, a much needed win, and who gives a fuck if they had two sent off. Thats their problem. I will sleep easier tonight. Nuho has that smile back on his face, and so have i. Oh, justice has been done Davtd Luiz, take that you toilet brush looking bastard.

Those were the days, nearly killed football off that shit. Crowd decline was massive in that period.
Took your life into your hands just to watch a match. The aroma of beer and cigar smoke smells
is something I'll never forget. Better than farts and BO we get now

Those were the times back then. Every ground you went to you had to stand up and be counted. We had loads of afters and got some kickings too. Part and parcel of it then. Of course it was stupid, but we were young adults in a different age.
