Wolves 1-1 Everton: Verdict Thread

How lop has kept up is a mystery because we don’t look any good. Toothless up front and not great in midfield and according to this forum shit defenders. I think harsh is an understatement yes we’re jittery at times but we ain’t playing Gornal Athletic
They are all so positive are they not. Fact remains we were bottom of the table & have avoided relegation comfortably thanks to these useless players.

Collins certainly looks more like his ceiling and style is more Craddock/Breen than Richards/Lescott. I expected somebody who was technically good who we'd have to work with to make a good defender, but he's really just poor-to-meh at pretty much everything

He'd generally looked technically good when id seen him for Ireland. I think there is a player there but his confidence is completely shot and that can sometimes completely derail a young players career. I'm not sure what the answer is with him because currently he's not really an option for any pl team the way he's playing.

The main thing we learned yesterday is that if Bentley is the answer the question most definitely is not who should be in goal for Wolves next season.

Bentley was never going to be the answer long term. He's fundamentally a good goalkeeper but if you ask the fans of teams he's played for before he's made consistent errors all throughout.

As a back up he's absolutely fine though and we should give him the Arsenal game as well even though he's fucked up yesterday.

He's homegrown, a good pro, well liked in the dressing room, I'd be comfortable with him starting cup games and the odd League game if our #1 is injured/suspended... What more do you want from a back up really?

The real question is what do we do with Sá. He's probably worth more now than when we signed him and I think we'd be able to upgrade on him without too much trouble so my stance is to sell him.

Having watched the highlights love how MOTD twist it that Everton played really well, why is Bentley coming out that far wide of his goal?
Dyche will keep Everton up and lauded the saviour but he’ll be hounded out as Everton fans will get sick of his football.

Bentley wanted to try and be the hero by coming and claiming that. Particularly as he had the opportunity previously which alledgedly he didn’t shout for. Ended up backfiring. Up the Leeds

Bentley is fine as a back up. I guess Bentley starting means Sa is moving on?

Everton aren’t even close to safe yet.

Leeds best West Ham and that gets revised. I think Leicester are right in the shit but the other two are a coin flip

Dyche won't be lauded as anything, no more so than Lampard was last season. Everyone can see that in terms of points return and performances they've still been largely rubbish.

Who's the biggest rival to where we want to be as a club; Everton or Leeds? That's who I want to go down 😅

Seen both linked with big takeovers, but not sure how realistic they are

If Everton stay up they will be in another relegation fight next season. A lot of the takeover stuff sounds pretty pie in the sky. They have no money to spend, need to make at least one sale or maybe more, although their only real assets seem to be Pickford and Onana unless someone takes a punt on DCL staying fit.

The guys rumoured for Everton don’t look particularly good news. Screams leveraged buyout.

A large proportion of any Everton takeover would go to paying off debt so you'd imagine for the first couple of years that wouldn't impact too much on the pitch. As far as I'm aware Leeds aren't leveraged like that so a takeover there would have more tangible benefits assuming the 49er group were doing so to improve the team.

A very wordy way of saying you want Leeds to go

Pickford to Spurs using some of the Kane money seems so obvious it almost has to happen

One thing’s for sure Joao Gomes is gonna be one hell of player, hope we get to watch him play for us for at least a couple of seasons.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a better tackler for us in CM. He absolutely loves it, pretty good bringing the ball forward too

Well we’d like to not have to do this again next season.
Yes of course but we’ve done well to get away from relegation so early. I fully expected yesterdays game to matter earlier in the season. There is a few glaring problems but given a pre season and some good additions that work (hopefully) I think we could be pushing for Europe again with this guy in charge.
Lage had us going down in the end we stayed up quite easily. I for one am very pleased about that and optimistic for next season.
