Wolves 0-4 Burnley: Verdict Thread

They're all horrible.

1: Boly missing a header inexplicably (does he duck it, does he miss it, no idea). Coady defending as if he's against peak Eden Hazard rather than Chris Wood. No blame on Rui for me.

2: Fuck off Adama. That's one of the stupidest passes I've ever seen in my life. You're an idiot.

3: José controls the ball like a parks player then doesn't bother defending. Arsehole. Hope he never plays for us again.

4: Saiss fucking around and we make a token at best effort to fix it.

Had Vydra's open goal or Vydra's offside goal counted they would also have been all our own fault, dreadful.

Is this in the build up to the corner, I don't want to have to go and watch :D

Yeah, it's criminal. Don't do it to yourself man.

The goal itself is his fault, watch him, just awful. In keeping with his entire spell, pound for pound one of the worst players I've ever seen in a Wolves shirt. If that's a £22m forward then I'm Gore Vidal.

Gore Vidal died 9 years ago...

I envy him in so many ways.

the worst part for me on the first goal isn't boly missing the header, it's his complete lack of trying to recover

The whole team just looks shot, mentally and physically.

For me, its that he almost catastrophically fucked up 30 seconds earlier and still misses the header.

I was trying to watch the match but the Portuguese TV was showing tennis. I was even going to drop a picture here but couldn't remember my password on the tablet pc.

Then we started getting hammered and I just didn't bother. Watched the highlights now, that was proper terrible. Jesus.

I'm with the half time analysis that said it was if he got a call from behind. The view from behind shows him ducking underneath it IIRC and that was my first thought when I saw it. I think Lineker said that it was probably a call from Wood.

Which is a foul if he did do that. You're not allowed to do it.

Muscat did it to Wrighty once when he was playing for Forest. Got him so wound him up that he got himself sent off.

If it was Wood, i'm amazed that Boly and/or Coady didn't have a moan to the ref, but then again we never seem to moan, well, other than Podence.

Finally got around to watching the highlights . That was a seriously worrying performance .

Allowing Adama to stand in our own penalty area is never a good idea .

Coady , Saiss and Boly all looked like they were at a party the previous night that lasted until the small hours of the morning .

Tackles not made , weak tackling , Christ they bullied us all over the park . It was like coming to a fight with no weapon .

No aggression whatsoever in our team when you think about it . Saiss had it , then he was told to cut out the yellow cards .

I’m not sure he ducks. He misjudges it, then pulls out of it as he knows he’s missing it. Not sure why he’d do that, maybe hope it has more chance of running through than taking the pace off it/heading it in random and possibly more dangerous position.

At the end of the day it didn’t go into a dangerous position. If Coady just stands him then he probably doesn’t even get a shot away or if he does Coady blocks it / it’s a routine save.

I'm still staggered by what a mess Coady gets himself into when defending against Wood.

He’s just not very good is he.

Goes charging in trying to block the first time shot, then he does the Coady classic of tying himself in knots everytime someone is then running at him.

Why he overcommits in the first instance I don’t know. Then he’s playing cathup from then on. I think it’s down to his “midfielder background”. Saiss is similar. Diving in, snapping into tackles pressing aggressively, like a Lee Catermole which is fine if you’re a midfielder because there are defenders behind you. Look at VVD when he’s 1 v 1 with Traore. He doesn’t do anything. Just stands there and says “you’ve got to beat me”. Not diving in and making it easy for him. Inevitably Traore gets forced wide and spanner’s it into the stands.

By diving in, over commiting, you make their decision for them. Then if they beat you you’re playing catch-up.
