Wolves 0-2 Crystal Palace verdict thread

Just look at Ricky Hatton, Gary Speed, Keith Flint and Robin Williams all multi millionaires but even with riches life somehow wasn't complete.

Some major (and quite offensive) extrapolation going on Quirk and EP, that's nothing like the point I'm making

I'm in-between those two thoughts. Of course footballers are human beings, have feelings and their productivity can be affected by negative work environments. They're also playing a game we all love for a living and being beyond handsomely rewarded for it. Playing football at any level professionally is a privilege and representing a historic, well supported club like Wolverhampton Wanderers is even more of one.

So I feel perfectly justified in saying that when I see someone as talented as Jørgen Strand Larsen being rewarded with a new contract after asking to leave, being perpetually unfit to play 90 minutes of PL football, constantly putting in half arsed performances and arguing with fans it makes me really start to fucking dislike him.

And who is hero worshipped in our squad?

Hwang, Doherty, Sa etc are regularly abused, to a quite vicious extent.

Ok, but that's how it came across.

My point is that those in elite positions with lots of wealth and influence should care and contribute more, not be lumped in with a lad who doesn't like his job stacking shelves.

They spend enough of their time kissing the badge and saying the right things when it suits

Yes? Obviously?

So just cos those players get a round of fucks on this forum doesn't mean they don't have a level of worldwide recognition you and I don't, just by virtue of being PL players.

And they've all had periods of being praised at Wolves, if we're talking more locally

Watching with our eyes.

They gave up yesterday. It was disgraceful.
I think after the second goal there was a drop off, but i don't think that's disgraceful, I think that's a natural lack of belief if you haven't won for nearly 8 months.

Of course it's self perpetuating though.

They were beaten after the first. It wasn't natural, it was pathetic.

I never, ever buy this reasoning.

It's not 'just a job', it makes them millionaires who are hero worshipped around the world (with all the endorsements and sponsorship opportunities that brings).

They should fucking care; if they want 'just a job' they can go and work for Aldi

Also, I bet precious little of Shi's toxicity even touches most of them
It's a bullshit narrative.

You or I could coast our way through work doing just enough, but these pricks are constantly aware of the next contract. The scouts eyes on them as individuals. Allowances will always be made for the fact they're in a shit team, and they'll know their individual performances and numbers will matter. Well, they should be. JSL's performance levels make me wonder about him. Like he knows that he's on telly, right? The fact we've assembled a bunch of players who are either A, talentless tryers, or B, talented, lazy cunts, is a stain on dozens of professional football operations people, coaches and managers.

I do find it strange how everyone can say there is there no hope, we are shit, it's pointless, everyone is crap, fuck the world, (I even got told in the match thread I'm gaslighting and contrary for saying for 5 mins after HT we looked better), but the players are arseholes for dropping their heads when they conceded a really unlucky first goal (obviously the second goal, whilst brilliant was Hwang summed up in a microcosm).

Footballers are just the same as the rest of people. Some will give their all whatever the circumstances, some will down tools at the first sign of trouble and some will take the piss at the first opportunity. The most frustrating Wolves player currently is JSL who puts more effort into waving his arms about than moving his legs.
