Wolves 0-2 Crystal Palace verdict thread

Like everyone said in the match thread - good to see more effort but there's nowt the manager can do about the quality of the players putting it in.

Don't want us to spend in January, better to save and rebuild for the champ in the summer.

If Edwards can take us down with a bit of dignity he'll have done a good job.

The only thing I want to see sold is January is... the club!

I don't give a shit what people will say about "be careful what you wish for" etc, Fosun need to fuck off.

You can't be ruled by fear and be thinking that things are bad but they could be worse, I just want these lot gone.

I'd spend the money to pay off the contracts of Munetsi and Hwang. These two offer nothing, they lack something that no coach is ever going to change...ability.

We don't need Gomes and Andre, and Andre has fallen off a cliff and I would keep the former over the latter.

Tolu is not very good and that front two looked like they had never met before today.

Clear out as much deadwood as possible in January, see out the season and hope.

Our last five league games:

P5 W0 D0 L5 F2 A13 Pts 0

That is where we are. We can't put an acceptable starting XI out, not even close. There's nothing on the bench. We have no pace, no creativity, we can't defend and our goalkeepers are a disgrace.

I cannot find any positives other than we tried and the team made at least more sense than picking 6 defenders and 1 midfielder.

Anyone who can see a win in the remainder of 2025 - please let me know because I can't.

I wonder if Kenny Jackett would be interesting in some consulting work on how to organise a bomb squad. I mean, who would you actually want to keep? JSL, Andre, Gomes? Not even convinced about them tbh. Did Tolu play today? Must've missed it.

It’s almost impossible to analyse. The quality is simply so low it beggars belief.

That said, he didn’t have to bring Hwang on. And given it would have been literally better to have played with only 10 mend why not try Lopez or Arias before him? No manager should get a pass for selecting him. Ever.

Was there even that much more effort? I don't think that was the problem under Vitor really.

I'd be surprised if Edwards is still here by June. When we lose 7+ on the bounce he'll be the only scapegoat.

I can cope with Munetsi and Jackson, they try and shouldn't have been signed. Hwang is just an entitled little cunt. He needs to fuck off and fuck off some more. Imagine bringing that piece of shit to replace Tolu. Id rather have gone down to 10

I went to Hednesford so didn't watch, but I doubt any PL side has ever put out an 11 with less creativity in the last 30 odd years. That's not a dig at Edwards particularly, the squad is appalling, however equally there's some people in Wolves land that have been absolutely gaslit into thinking he's as good as he could as we could get, essentially because the criteria was who does Shi know that isn't GON. It's an appalling appointment and we've paid £3-4m for the privilege, more than the value of 1 years season ticket increase.

I like the bloke, but I like Steve Bull, Alex Rae, Keith Curle and others Wolves players who have had a go at management and I wouldn't have employed any of them either.

Anyone name a worse set of subs than Hwang and Arias?

Hwang, set up a Palace goal and played a great opportunity straight out for a goal kick
Arias, took the ball off JSLs toes to avoid a tap in and then got booked.

The positives, defended ok for 60 odd minutes, Tolu was ok (more defensively than I'd like) and Agbadou looked closer to his old self.

The negatives: we're actually shit in almost every aspect of the game.

Yeh there was definitely much more effort going in to closing people down and trying to bundle the ball forward. Possibly best performance of the season on that score. Not that it wasn't still rubbish.

Hwang is a one-good-game-in-ten type of player. I vaguely remember him having a purple patch a while ago before the obvious statistical reversion to the norm.

When you have an array of terrible supposed footballers to choose from, you're gambling against the odds no matter who you bring on or start, But yeah, that should be the last we ever see of Hwang except maybe in the cup if we're not going to try in that either.
