Wolves 0-1 Tottenham: Verdict Thread

Fourth match sorry. I misread.

But still…

That’s not what they tweeted at all

But as the season went on I feel we didnt shoot much, so must have gone downwards from then,,any stats how many shots all season?

Caught the first 10 and 2nd half abs watched the highlights

thought we looked really good. Daft goal to give away, poor ball from neves and Sa doesn’t need to commit as much as he did. Pen for me.

think of red had given the pen on semedo, it wouldn’t have been overturned by VAR. get the pen and score we win that game

extremely encouraged by how we are playing, very easy on the eye, but 25 shots, I wouldn’t say there were many clear cut chances.

traore again has to do better. However still thought he was fantastic. He has to have a few games a season where things go for him, surely?

Sa, kilman, and neves (minus the pass) exemplary today. Semedo also good I felt.

RAN needs to start, Marcel was in some fabulous positions but his the final ball of a paraplegic pigeon.

again, lots of positives. However, with United next, we could easily be on 0 points from 3 games. I just hope heads don’t drop and the baying mob start to get on the team back.

also, is it a Portuguese thing saying ‘it’s all about the process’ continuously?

I think I read that we scored 36 goals and created 28 clear cut chances. Not sure in terms of how many shots

Nobody told Brighton that last season tbf.
They didn't, but their finishing position didn't inspire confidence. We all knew the first 3 games would be difficult, but if we have no points and no goals after those 3 it never inspires confidence.
Looking at the way we are playing it looks good, but......

apparently 463 shots after 38 games last season

The difference is they have a manager and players who believe in the style, so it may be that their finishing position didn’t inspire confidence but they don’t alter their style regardless of opponent or run of form. Nuno used to be very similar before last season and it means the players buy into it.

Not really sure what his strengths are. Seems 6/10 at everything without stand out attributes. Not quick or strong and very one footed. But the delivery and shooting from that left foot aren’t special so far and although his dribbling is decent it’s not at top levels.

Bit of a poor mans Mahrez and rich mans James Henry.
I wondered if he has a forward gear? The front 3 for various reasons cost us the game today...Neves cost us the goal

Trincao’s positional play is excellent. Finds really good spaces between defenders. I find him a bit…. loose at the moment but his talent is obvious to me. Dribbling and turning very very good. He’s not the quickest though and so far his crossing/shooting has been quite weak, I can see that improving though

It's a double edged sword in the sense that we definitely are good to watch BUT getting 0 points and no goals every week isn't sustainable :D

I mean it's really the same as last week. Had the better of the game overall, created better opportunities but couldn't put any away. From the NB it looked like Adama had done the hard bit - Lloris was committed and he still managed to hit it straight at him. For the second week in the succession I thought everyone had at least a decent game, a shame that Neves blotted his copybook with giving the ball away in the run up to the penalty as otherwise he was excellent and easily the best CM on the park.

The best I have seen Trincao play so far, even if he can be a bit Seol and try to beat the man too many times. I think he'll get there though.

If we get 2-3 in in the next week and a bit and start to get some injured players back then we should be ok...would be nice to get that monkey off our back and score/win, the encouraging thing is that they're good games to watch, you would think we should have too much for a lot of the weaker teams when we face them, and while I did fear us taking at least a couple of hammerings early on with our defensive set-up from pre-season, that hasn't happened or even threatened to happen.

I've had a go at Kilman in the past but he was excellent today and also impressed with Sa whose distribution and starting position allows us to operate in a different way (some good saves near the end too when we were throwing everything forward).

Marvellous to see everyone who could make it today and being in a full Molineux again was great.

Morgan isn't a winger any day of the week, though. When he came on against Leicester he played between attack and midfield.

Do think it's a bit odd that he didn't come on at all today, though. Maybe a bid's come in? (Wild speculation there but I imagine some Championship club would be stoked to have Morgan on loan).
We are not playing wingers though.

Harry Kane - he wants to fuck off. He’s a Manc in the morning. So much fun those chants.

Also credit to Sa for the double save from Kane and Bergwijn. Tremendous

Proud of our efforts today. Battered Spurs and played some lovely stuff even if we couldn’t finish . That happens. I never thought a Nuno side would really dick a premier league team but I reckon it won’t be long until we put 4 or 5 past someone.
Sa was unlucky with the penalty. It was soft and gave Attwell a decision to make and he is just Mike Dean light when it comes to Wolves. Sa is quicker off his line , starts higher up , more confident with his feet and comes for crosses. He also made some decent saves today. I am not seeing a down grade at all. We will win at least 10 to 15 games if we play like that every week and Traore learns to finish . Still two or three to come in please . Not despondent just a bit pissed that Spurs have mugged us again.

I like Sa (penalty aside) much more energetic and keen to push us forward - that might be on Bruno though.
