Wolves 0-1 Nottingham Forest: Verdict Thread

Wolves having a genuine impact on people’s mental health at the moment.
100%. I have lived and breathed Wolves for all of my life and base pretty much everything around following them home and away. At the moment I really can’t be arsed. I gave myself a few games off and didn’t miss it (not winning any of them probably did help) Decided to go back last night and we’re back to square one. Most of my mates are the same, numbers have dwindled and any enthusiasm to go to Arsenal and get back at 3am in the morning isn’t apparent. I’ll be back there on Monday night.

The apathy in the ground is strange. Has everyone else just given up? A lack luster couple of chants is all that came from the South Bank. The lad in front was still clapping urging those around “to get behind the lads” The fans gave more anger to drive Scott Sellars out of the club.

There’s plenty of noise on the socials, about flags, not taking your seats, but none of it makes the ground. Everyone has just given up, including me.

Yep.
A manager who played the equivalent of hoofball to two aged Derek Dougans with no wingers and nobody feeding off them against Palace.
A manager who then goes on to play a back 7 against Forest and didn't change it until about 15 minutes from the end despite us being trapped in our own half with zero outlets.
:-(

It’s not ridiculous, he’s been awful all season and was arguably the worst player on the pitch again yesterday relative to his ability.
Yes he’s struggling for confidence but he’s regularly giving away 10 yard passes and just being bypassed when we don’t have the ball.

I know Lycan criticised him on Sunday too for his role in Villa’s goal and when he’s the one you expect to be giving everything and fighting for everything he didn’t.

The bit about living off running around and winning the ball back was hyperbole but it’s so frustrating watching someone with that ability just be a non entity in game after game. Shame we have no replacement for him as if he did we could take him out of the firing line a little and try to regain something.
Saying he’s living off running around and winning the ball back 18 months ago is ridiculous. You’ve even admitted it was hyperbole. Just nonsense. Him having a poor season doesn’t make that true.

Edwards had a dream
To build a football team
Chinese owners but no wonder kid from Porto
Always wearing a frown
'Cos his chairman's a clown
We're Wolverhampton
And we're going back down

No good just getting rid if the Shi.ster. He would just be replaced by another without any football knowledge or culture. Until Fosun are gone the decline will continue
hard to believe a Company with their net worth and supposed investment experience didn't bring in a head man with knowledge of how to run a club, especially when they reached the Prem and had funds to do it. I mean, they may have ended up hiring another clown, but they'd have at least acknowledged their own lack of expertise. instead we've faced this slow death in the division as shitty decisions on recruitment have accumulated year on year. even then they got away with a lot up to now, for instance recouping money on Silva and making a profit on Nunes that was effectively gifted to them, and the team just about having enough to survive some major slumps that were more than fucking clues. we can hardly say Fosun haven't deserved this, and how we/they can avert a downward spiral next season is anyone's guess.

it felt we waited a lifetime to see the team Nuno put together stamp its authority on games only to hear it now get dismissed as lucky by a fool who's main current contribution appears to be resetting us to a team with virtually no attacking threat.

It’s with the fanbase imo that he’s living off it, he’s still in the team because we have no one else or he wouldn’t have been back in after the Fulham game. He gave up Sunday after the challenge on him before the Villa goal and despite him probably being asked to do things he’s not great at he was genuinely as bad as i’ve seen last night. A lot of it my side is probably frustration because he’s obviously better than what he’s showing but when we’ve got some god awful players around him he needs to step up and he’s wilted.

We had this shit away at Villa. I'd been singing most of the game, trying to be positive, but as soon as I started to get annoyed at the end some muppet stood in front of us who hadn't made a peep all game started going on about 'backing the lads'.

This squad is so devoid of any ability that it makes zero difference to the result if you're cheering them on or booing them, they're cooked and they know it too.

If it makes you feel good about yourself to clap/cheer yourself stupid (not you Lycan) then go ahead for all the good it will do...

I’ll try one last time. Saying that all he was doing was running around and winning the ball 18 months ago is ridiculous.

Odd, Gomes looked ok on TV, I'm a bit surprised he's getting pelters on here. He certainly didn't put in a Strand Larsen of a performance and he was well above Jackson and Hwang.

He's definitely struggling, and not performing as well as he can, but he's one of the few in this squad that can play football.

Obviously I’ve simplified it and said it was partly hyperbole but that’s basically what your average fan sees. Running, closing down, tackles, fouls. He was doing it with purpose 18 months ago and a bit of nouse but he’s not now.

Getting the ball, running round in circles, ignoring simple passes before giving it back to Agbadou or Toti. He was part of the problem in our inability to get beyond the half way line.
His reaction to his booking was a disgrace, he stormed over to the bench and seemed to be asking to come off but got waved away by Edwards.

I think there was a desire from many to give Edwards a bit of time and support to show that we know it's not his fault, but that probably ended last night.

There will be apathy because it's draining watching this shit every week and there are still 12 home games for the majority to suffer!

I expect Monday to be a lot more anti-Fosun given it's United and the only game on TV so a bigger audience.

I said weeks ago we needed to find a way of getting Krejci in to midfield to play in front of Gomes & Andre. Said multiple times he's wasted in defence. We're not keeping clean sheets anyway, we have no creativity or attacking threat from the central midfield areas - we have seen Krejci has an eye for goal - so just play a back 4, shift Krejci in to midfield and see what happens.

He really wasn’t. He’s always had this hesitation in his game to drive forward but there’s basically nothing forward now and it’s slow and safe and when there’s a hint of adventure the execution is way off. He’s also just so easy to bypass for other teams at the moment because he is here and there and everywhere but not where we and the rest of the team need him. Partly due to managers probably not knowing how to use him but also due to his own performance. We’ve got bigger issues than him because if we still had better players infront of him it would mask some of his performance but he’s been really bad recently and it’s frustrating when you know his ability.

He was absolutely shitting himself on the ball, especially in the first half. Quite sad to see.

When Edwards said he asked the players if they were scared in the first half I just assumed he meant Joao tbf.

Our players have done that for a while, it's the reason RAN used to get so much pelters - he got given the ball in some stupid situations but always did his best to try and carry the ball out and move it forward rather than do the same to someone else.

Gomes is carrying a knock I suspect. Twice in breaks in play the physio had the magic spray out. He was limping heavily at FT too.
He's consistently given the ball with 2 men on him, which means he's starting from a difficult spot. There's such a lack of movement from our players, and only Bellegarde and Arias got close to showing for the ball last night.
Strand larsen was awful, 2nd to everything. yesterday. absolute shocker.

I actually thought it was Andre who, for the first half, was the poorest of the two in midfield. He was actively hiding and not backing up Gomes in the press.

Second half Andre was the better of the two though.
