Wolves 0-1 Nottingham Forest: Verdict Thread

We are shit, possibly worse than shit. But it's all down to Fosun, specifically Jeff Shit! Can't wait for them to fuck off, the cunts!

For me it’s more annoying to hear the free pass he gets and will get from media and fans playing the ‘realistic’ card. Especially media who clearly just like him as their idea of a good manager is someone you’d like to go on a golf weekend to Albufeira with. That’s just an unacceptable lack of critical thinking.

The way we got out of the Championship in recent history was by doing all the things we now seem likely to do the reverse of. Including the managerial appointment.

Yeh I'm not thinking that he's a great manager who'd definitely get us out of this with a sprinkling of better players, but seeing as we're a club who's first thought was to try and re-hire Gary O'Neil (I still struggle to believe that really happened, mind blowing), we just weren't going to get anyone better.

I can understand if he'd want to come to us to be closer to his family (and more money, at least temporarily), but if he had any delusions that the challenge was going to be anything less than what he saw last night, that's less understandable.

I want to know where @prawnking is to rightly pick me up on the optimism I had around Arias?! I’m here to own my poor call. Although, incredibly, he still is preferable to the two alternatives mentioned, and therein lies one of the many, many problems.

Given I attend with a family, I’m going to have to rethink the whole frequency and wider experience. I know of examples where kids in a family with as strong a connection to a club have been put off for life from forcing them to watch this kind of shambles. Definitely need some breaks from going to every match as it’s so bad for our mood.

'Told you so's' seem hollow when we're all depressed with what's happening to our club, so you won't get one from me mate! And yeah, the Arias replacements are even more mangy.

The point about it affecting people's mood is spot on as well, must be worse if you're regularly attending. I think we all feel like a mental or physical break, don't think I've ever felt like that before? Even during the last double relegation or 90s Championship wilderness disappointments

I was desperate for my <20 point prediction to be wrong and the told you so stuff coming back my way.
Said it before it’s a situation you take no pleasure in the fact you got a prediction right.
I’m hoping I’m still proven wrong but very much doubt it.
Reality is if these players had shown a bit more fight and bravery they’d probably be sat on 7/8 points which would be shocking but not humiliating and would mean we’d at least beat the 11 point marker.
It’s so desperate if you offered me another 10 points now I’d take it.
The way it is we need to turn every game into a cup tie and just try and make things uncomfortable for the opponents.
We just don’t do that we’re passive, play things safe and never win headers or second balls. Not to mention we have zero width and can’t retain possession beyond 5 passes.
Decision making in the final 3rd is amateurish.

Everything about us right now is depressing and embarrassing. Players have no belief and no fight and neither do the fans. Someone with more reach and influence than us has to get some sort of protest going very soon.

We’re already down but think if we’re going to get anything from games it will be with a back four as it at least enable us to put more bodies in attacking positions. Watching 3 centre backs with no players with them that can progress the ball really is mind numbing.

I thought Andre was the best player Sunday and again last night. In those 2 games he’s actually started to find forward passes through lines and any chances we have had have come through him. The less said about his midfield partner the better, he’s living off running around and winning the ball back 18 months ago and is escaping a lot of criticism which others are getting.

I said the other week i actually feel sorry for some of them because they’re playing at a level well above their ability especially Jackson. His attempt to pass to Larsen in the first half which ended up in our dugout was a particular highlight.

As for Edwards, he shouldn’t be here, that’s the biggest sign we’re completely fucked and i don’t put too much blame on him yet but if he keeps bringing on Hwang and doesn’t use Mane more he’s going to start catching a few bullets.

It’s getting the bulk of the fans behind it, most will just let things go passively because it’s less hassle.
Can start small ie not taking your seats until 8 minutes denoting how many months since a league win etc banners are fine with a clear none offensive message. The chants like “you’ve sold the team, now sell the club” need to be louder and more prolonged.

£100 million to create this shitfest... I'd have had infinitely more joy if Jeff had handed the dough to Bill Drummond to torch in the centre circle when the season kicked off!

I think this is a ridiculous thing to say. We all know he’s an excellent midfielder, he’s struggling but is so clearly lacking in confidence right now. Multiple times yesterday he was hesitant, played too safe a lot of the time and struggled to play off minimal touches.

and is escaping a lot of criticism which others are getting.

Don’t think this is true either. In fact I’ve been quite surprised by some of the criticism when he’s one of our only good players

Wolves' recruitment team must suck. They've gone from a stable Premier League team who were always tough to play against, to a bunch of cloggers who I've never heard of and who are quite frankly, shit.

Another thing that struck me about the matchday experience was how dank and dark Molineux looked. We park back of Asda and coming round to face the ground it looks horrible. The Stan Cullis stand is dark as fuck, the lights on the sign are bost and you would think a bit of lighting pointing up the stand wouldn't go a miss, the Stan Culis statue should be lit up, the walls on the outside are boring and have space for murals of past achievements under Stan's stewardship. The whole experience before going into the ground reeks of depression.

It’s not ridiculous, he’s been awful all season and was arguably the worst player on the pitch again yesterday relative to his ability.
Yes he’s struggling for confidence but he’s regularly giving away 10 yard passes and just being bypassed when we don’t have the ball.

I know Lycan criticised him on Sunday too for his role in Villa’s goal and when he’s the one you expect to be giving everything and fighting for everything he didn’t.

The bit about living off running around and winning the ball back was hyperbole but it’s so frustrating watching someone with that ability just be a non entity in game after game. Shame we have no replacement for him as if he did we could take him out of the firing line a little and try to regain something.

Minor detail!😁. I’d probably go with Aris and play Bellegarde and Munetsi either side until Rodrigo is fit. A million miles from ideal but the current plan has produced no goals in 5 games.

The crowd were audibly pissed off several times during the first half especially by the reluctance to go forward and the dull recycling at the back at times in the game where taking the initiative as the home team was right there for us. Confidence and lack of options a dual killer.

We clearly have no offensive plan (partially due to the unsuitable personnel we have in most key areas), and that was the same under VP earlier in the season.

'Hit and hope' crossing is about all we have, which is pretty shite for League One, and totally unacceptable for the Premier League

I can't be mad at Edwards just yet. Feels pointless repeating what you've all said but let's face it, this place feels more like a support group right now than anything else.

It all comes back to Shi. Rolling terrible decisions and penny pinching, capped off by the mother of all decisions - giving a manager who rarely achieves positive results for more than 6 months the keys to a premier league team, and allow him to scout and recruit an incoherent pile of duds to add to our existing, barely coherent pile of duds.

You can't run a football club by being so apathetic and/or clueless that you'd make a decision like that. No desire for success, no idea how it would be achieved if there was. Feels like behind the scenes is The Thick of It: Football Edition, but without a Malcolm to give everyone bollocking enough that they at least look like they're making a serious effort.

No idea what Fosun are thinking right now but for the love of god please just fire the prick, if only for the temporary catharsis.
No good just getting rid if the Shi.ster. He would just be replaced by another without any football knowledge or culture. Until Fosun are gone the decline will continue

I similarly had high expectations of Arias, he did come with good reports from the world club cup tourny, but what a disappointment.

I think part of the problem with Gomes is that he's been asked to do a role that he isn't suited to. He's quite skilful and obviously gets up and down the pitch so a few managers now have asked him to provide creativity from the middle. I actually think he's quite limited in that regard personally.

A good manager uses him to his strengths, he's great when he can get into physical ground duels. We need to be setting pressing traps where we can make the best of those attributes. Instead he just seems to be charging around completely disconnected to the rest of the team and getting played through far too easily.

He certainly isn't helping himself though btw, he was dreadful last night, especially in possession.

I do think Joao is struggling with confidence at the moment and he has shown he can be a good player, but he was dreadful last night. Really poor. I am lucky enough to have not seen the last few games prior to yesterday, but from reading here it appears that last night's performance wasn't a one-off and he has had a run of pretty bad games. He'll get a game out of the lineup for his suspension anyway, but we really don't have anyone to put in his place, so he'll come straight back in out of necessity. He needs to be better though.
