Should have had at least one penalty. Awful from VAR.

We played quite well in the middle third. We also put some decent balls in too but they just didn't quite come off or were defended with a last ditch touch.

Hope Rui is ok.

Hopefully Rui is ok - looked very nasty. Despite Rui making a howler I feel more angry that both Pawson and VAR have missed two penalties. One clear as day, the second on Moutinho soft but Pawson has given those fouls to Liverpool all over the pitch tonight.

Still not creating much in open plays and yet again looked threatening from corners played into the box. We cannot waste opportunities to get the ball into the box like we did with our first corner. Jose better tonight but still not good enough. Semedo frustrating as usual. Liverpool have some horrible players with Salah the most detestable. Liverpool's MOTM Pawson by a good distance.

Couldnt care less about this game currently. Will post some thoughts tomorrow but all my concern is currently for Rui's health

Get well soon Rui.

We just don’t have the players capable of scoring goals consistently right now and we suffer for it in games like this.

Watching Fabio jump for that header in slow motion reminded me of that picture of Matt Hancock playing football. I know he got a nudge, and tbf to him, his movement and positioning is top notch, but that wasn't a good look.

On the performance - we created situations, but rarely chances. Not uncommon for us in the last 12 months really. We played pretty well generally, but our decision making and execution in that final moment is fucking diabolical.

Ref was shit for both of us, and far from the reason we lost the game, if any of the three were given they'd be soft. I disagree with most (and Carra!) that the first was stonewall too tbh

Hope Rui is OK. Tbh I didn't quite catch the incident, hopefully just a cheekbone/jaw rather than a fractured skull

Lack of quality despite having quality players.

Decent performance and we should have got something from the game had we any composure in the final third.

Any positives kinda ruined by the injury to Rui at the end though. Only 9 games left and that's at least 8 too many.

This season can really fuck off.

played pretty well really. Decent intent, formation was spot on from Nuno. Even inverting the centre backs made sense for the most part.

need more guile/combinations/better decision making in final third though. A midfielder joining from deep helps at times but we still make poor decisions, or don’t have players in the right position to support and combine.

robbed of at least one penalty too

I think the performances have generally been improving with time in the last 8 games , just either some players out of form, mistakes or bad decision making let us down in moments.

Really hope it’s not too serious for Rui

We are seriously blunt toothless godamn awful up front. Most other premier sides would have scored at least once from those chances tonight. Fucking depressing same shit rinse and repeat bollocks.
Personally I don’t rate Fabio or WJ on their performance this season. Looking forward to the xg on this . Roll on May and some serious investment on players. We need it.

Watching Fabio set up the chance of the match for Morgan ...

Never been so angry with a referee performance, Thiago makes 4 yellow card tackles before actually getting one. Then finally gets one for persistent fouling. The first penalty call is on VAR.

Most important thing is hopefully Rui will be ok.

Silva showed he's got something when he came on. Missed chance again but he will take them eventually, i'm convinced.

MGW looked good in the deep role last 10 minutes. Would like to see him given a chance there for a while.

Decision making in the final third is poor from pretty much everyone at the moment.

Ref was wank.

One game closer to this shite season ending.

Terrible performance from Pawson and VAR team. How that penalty could be missed is unbelievable.
Deserved a point, but once again we suffer once we get near the box with the final ball. Fabio had 2 very good chances and should have scored. Adama just doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball. Neto running into dead ends as well.
At least a more attacking performance than in recent matches.

There are times where I really hate football. The people in charge of the game, the rule makers and the officials on the pitch, are generally utterly useless and incapable of making a correct decision. The offside rule is a joke and has led directly to a serious injury tonight. It's fucking scandalous that these people run the game. And Craig Pawson should never walk onto a pitch as a referee at any level again. It's easy to see why so many of these incompetent/corrupt twats get abuse online. It's wrong, but they fucking bring it on themselves.

Fucking shit ref and VAR, and not one striker we can count on. We should have at least had a point, but as usual with Liverpool they get every lucky break there is.
Hope Rui is ok, it didn't look good.

Yeah it was a lovely flick. I'm probably one of Fabio's biggest defenders tbf, but it was just his facial expression and general lack of conviction made it spring to mind.

Spot on.

Pleased with the performance, but obviously could have been better, but some of the comments on the match thread....really ?
