Average performance. Disappointing result. Game decided by a scrappy goal from a corner.

Just about the better team overall in terms of possession and potential, but absolutely toothless up front unfortunately.

Neves the default MOTM for me.

Set pieces and crosses were poor for so long . Only woke up after the red .
Another 1 0 home loss the twelfth blank of the season.
The sad thing is it’s not at all a surprise.

We need a goalscorer in the summer. I love Raul but this season he has been pretty fucking shit. And Fabio isn't gonna be the man/boy to displace him. Chiquinho did OK, Neves was outstanding again, Podence good at times frustrating at others. Trincao shit. Kilman, Semedo and Saiss good. Donk anonymous as usual apart from missing 2 headers he should have done better with.

Traore was not the answer tonight, we essentially brought him on with Chiqi, anyway, who did basically the same thing as Adama but with double the workrate.

What I would really like is a forward who actually makes CBs work. You put hands on Raul and you win the ball, period.

Actually quite peeved so off to have a smoke and. I dunno. Not do soccer.

We actually played fairly well and dominated most of it. But we don’t create enough, with or without Adama, to be a top 6/7 team. See how these next three games go but if we fall away I’d then be tinkering with the shape and individuals to work out how to get the right balance ahead of next season

Podence can get in the bin. Infuriating - absolutely incapable of making the right decision. He's not the only one, but by far the worst offender.
He’s literally the only player that ever looks like doing anything offensively at the moment. Right or wrong decision, no one else is brave enough to do anything.

So much ball, so much territory, not one half decent chance. Lack of invention leads us to slinging in cross after cross when we've got no cunt who can cross it, and no cunt who can head it.

Pedro Neto is the only of our 6 senior forwards that I'd be disappointed to lose.

Podence is hot and cold, we know that about him. Jiminez is the one that worries me though. He doesn’t look like scoring and rarely looks to pass to others once he is facing goal. He is the senior central striker and one of the highest paid players at the club. We need much much more from him.

We play some ok football, left to right, nice touches, easy on the eye……but create nothing.

Our crossing is largely awful and to nobody - I hate to say it but Jimenez just doesn’t look at it.

Defensively (bar the goal) we are solid, untroubled and well organised. No issues there for me at all.

We need to look at how we want to play. We are playing wing backs tonight who always check back and can’t beat their man - so that completely negates the system.

Add to that a central midfield pair who are defensive minded, no pace and don’t break the lines.

And up top we have too many players (Trincao, Podence, Chiq,Fabio and now Jimenez) who just never ever look like scoring. Ever.

So a likely 10th place (or so) finish is probably about where we are.

Which is disappointing beating in mind United, West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs are largely pretty shit.

Frustrated.

I’d go more lukewarm and cold. Gets abit of steam going and then flatters to deceive

He's a 2022 Seol. If he actually put a ball in after committing, rather than trying to beat them over and over and ending up further away from the box in the process, he'd be much more dangerous. He's so easy to play against.

First thought - the disallowed goal, from the only replay I've seen Xhaka knocked it straight in, yet offside was given?

Getting genuinely concerned by Raul. As I said in the matchday thread, Raul of 2-3 years ago scores two headers tonight. He doesn’t seem to have any sort of confidence what so ever and unless he’s scoring regularly, we’re going to struggle. Fabio can’t play a full 90 and even when he came on, he does a pathetic pull back when clean through instead of smashing his foot through it and having a shot.

Terrible goal to concede.

Trincao was a massive disappointment. Really thought he’d have a good game tonight but his final pass was appalling and he is scared to shoot.

Really disappointing evening. I genuinely thought we’d do them over tonight, but Moutinho was a big miss. Fucking hate Arsenal. Times have changed when they’re time wasting against little old Wolves from the 60 minute mark.
