The women’s Curling semi showed precisely why sport is so gripping. When we got 3 in the 9th I shouted out louder than many Wolves goals. Absolutely fantastic.

I think the big surprise was the gap between them and Sweden, Denmark, etc. I knew the Norsk were a force in the winter games but not quite by so much.

Resurrecting this thread in horrible circumstances. Lindsey Vonn was racing the women's downhill with a torn ACL and crashed badly. Horrible to watch (and hear). Glib comment but really hope she's ok. Goodness knows how the others follow.

Yeah, it wasn't very pleasant. You do have to question the decision to ski with a ruptured ACL. It definitely affected the rest of the competition because no-one who ran after her crash got anywhere near the winner's time.
