Winter Improvement Thread (aka Winter Squad Weakening Thread and TWF Suicide Watch)

It's almost like Jackett has borrowed Big Fat Sam's and Tony Pulis' black book of unknown footballers with a pliable* agents.

*this in no way infers that either Big Fat Sam or Tony Pulis have ever done anything untoward in the world of football.
Or people are just posting bollocks and they are not players we are looking at..

If true I guess the fee may be a little off...

CM 99/00 legend Tony Vairelles breaking the news. What a time to be alive.

Hasn't appeared in a matchday squad for Lens since the end of November so I presume he's been injured.

That would be an absurd amount for him. 3 goals in 220 minutes this season.

Think he's more your Emile Heskey than John Carew. Stats don't suggest he's a goal scorer

When you Google that Twitter account you get an old version of the bio:

The latest Tweets from Tony (@TonyVairelles). Futur président de la FIFA. Compte parodique.

It's a fake.

Impossible to tell what kind of player he is really. One of my best friends is an RC Lens fan, I asked him about this guy and he doesn't know much about him at all.

Was only suggesting from the very limited evidence available

If he does sign, the kids ain't having his name on a shirt,it'll cost a fortune, glad we never signed van jennigor of hesselink or whatever he was called

This morning Twitter offers us Fabrice N'Sakala of Anderlecht at LB, and a German striker whose name i can't remember. Battling it out with Burnley - top scorer in Bundesliga 2

Nils Petersen of SC Freiburg?

A quick google... He's 6'1", 27 years old and has scored 15 goals with 4 assists in 18 games and had 47 shots. From the stats I wouldn't mind but know nothing about him. Over to DW and Alan?

I've asked a very good German mate of mine who is a SC Freiburg fan and goes over to watch them every month. His response -

"don't believe he'd go to a Championship club. Quality player, full on finisher but currently injured"

He was on loan at Freiburg in the second half of last season before making a permanent switch close season after they were relegated. My mate doesn't think they need to sell (from a financial perspective) and need his goals to go back up.

Can't see there being much in it from that.

Certainly seems that every striker we're linked with is over 6'
If this is KJ's preferred route, with Mason as the #10 not sure where it leaves Nouha Dicko when he comes back...

He can play on the right wing*

*He really can't

With healthy competition for his place in the team?

Be the first time it's happened in his Wolves career mind.

Wenger says Gnabry off to a Championship club, I'd be all over that. Liam Moore off to McDons on loan, I'd have thought he was better than Captain Batth.
