What are you currently listening to....

Silverchair are one of those bands who I always liked when I heard them on the radio but I've never heard any of their albums. I think my wife has one of their CD's but not sure which one.

A 90s band you haven't listened too????????!??!?!!!!!!??!?111111!!/!1

Haha I can't help it if I was a teenage rock fan in the 1990's! It's also due to the fact that my Dad worked at the library so every week I'd give him a list of CD's to order into the library for me. If anyone ever went into Wolverhampton Central Library during the 90's and wondered why there were so many rock CD's available to borrow then I'm probably to blame.

I seem to remember you singing the praises of 90's rock bands once too so I'm not the only one! I am also going to make a point of listening to my wife's Silverchair CD now.

Talking of rock, The Darkness have announced a new album on June 1st.

Inspired by machin, blasted out the sounds of science very loud over the weekend.
The Beasties am ace.

My iPod is on shuffle at the moment - 'We All Stand Together' by Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus came on earlier.

Now - I love Sir Paul. I think he's ace. And some of his solo work is actually pretty decent - for example, I'd really recommend the very underrated Flamin' Pie album he did in the last 90's. But the Frog Chrous really is utterly abominable.

Discovered this morning that Jagged Little Pill still stands up surprisingly well. I wouldn't fancy having it as the only album I had though à la The Trip.

I really like the acoustic version of JLP too, which is on Spotify. Ironic in particular is excellent.

Actually it was One Hand In My Pocket that I was thinking of.

I bought it the week it came out. I adore it but I actually prefer Love Over Gold!

I can live with Dire Straits now but by God it was a grim time when they dominated the music scene. Nothing but wall-to-wall Money for Nothing wherever you turned. Seemed like a million years. Nearly as bad as Bryan Adams and Everything I Do.

Currently enjoying a bit of George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

+1. a really overplayed and dreadfully shit song.

Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come

Excellent choice young man. I'm rather enjoying Follow the Deadlights by Diablo Blvd/Boulevard. Groovy.

It dropped off a bit after the blistering opener and the monologues were a bit pretentious but it certainly lived up to its name. I can hear bits of all kinds of modern post-hardcore in there.
