What are you currently listening to....

Never heard it. Again I have a bootleg of Soul Asylum, & their live stuff was way better than their studio stuff. It has a wicked cover of sexual healing on it.
Remember seeing them at the civic & being really happy when the played keep it up.

Their live stuff always seems to be good. There was a free live cd with the Candy From a Stranger album which I have listened to far more than I have listened to the actual album (although, the album is a bit iffy tbf).

Incidentally, that Civic Hall gig would have been my first ever concert but my parents said I was too young to go :( They felt bad afterwards though and said they should have let me go so at least they let me go to see the next band I liked that played the Civic (Terrorvision). I never did get to see Soul Asylum live at any point.

Anyone else find certain tunes/albums are definitely seasonal? I have a fair few albums that I love in the sun.

So Much For The City by The Thrills is definitely a summer album. Now there's a band that disappeared overnight. Not helped by Let's Bottle Bohemia being shite other than Whatever Happened To Corey Haim, which is a belter of a track.

Thanks. Now I'm going to be singing 'Big Sur' all afternoon!

Dodgy's 'Homegrown' is definitely a summer album. I don't listen to it often these days but it always sounds better when the sun is shining.

Len - Steal My Sunshine

A summer one hit wonder.

And an awful one at that!

I was listening to Ill Communication the other day - that's a great listen in the sun.

Wotta great call machin! I was debating putting on the sounds of science when I get home tonight.
Another summer listen is hello nasty too. Fucking love that album.

Soul Asylum's unplugged was awesome. Annoyingly they never released a cd version of it. They did 'To Sir with love' with Lulu which was a particular highlight.
If you really want a version of it, try the following:

I was at that terrorvision gig too!

I bloody love Terrorvision. Apaprently Tony Wright's solo effort is quite highly rated?

It was a toss up between the two, tbh. Might give Hello Nasty a listen on the way home tonight, see what Bea makes of it!

Not heard the solo stuff, but terrorvision are great!

Super Disco Breakin is one of the best opening tracks ever imo.

I was at that terrorvision gig too!

That's a few gigs from the 90's we've both been at. I was blown away by that Terrorvision gig as it was my first taste of live music. I still remember the lights going down, them coming on stage to 'Under the moon of love' and then the lights coming back up and they went straight into 'Pretend Best Friend'. I loved it!

I still have all my gig tickets (bar 2) in photo albums. Great to have the help for the memory!

Listened to Hundred Reasons 'Ideas Above Our Station' this morning. Such an underrated band but still one of my favourite ever albums.

This morning's crawl along the A4123 was brought to me by Silverchair's 1997 sophmore album Freak Show. Love it. The Door is a properly brilliant track:

Silverchair are one of those bands who I always liked when I heard them on the radio but I've never heard any of their albums. I think my wife has one of their CD's but not sure which one.

Frogstomp is great, but I think Freak Show edges it. Didn't really listen to them after that and their most recent stuff is pussy ass.
