What are you currently listening to....

i love great covers, though usually need there to be something different about them.

I agree. I do like crap(ish) songs covered by people of an entirely different genre.

Such as Richard Thompson's version of Oops I Did It Again. Well worth a listen!! (Again thanks to Spotify Discover Weekly)

one of the reasons i love killdozer! their covers of janet jackson, paula abdul, jessi colter's 'I'm not lisa' are just ace.

Edit: funnily enough i'm just listening to Luna's 'Lunafied' which is their series of covers. always great - esp thats what they always say (Dream syndicate)

Spotify Weekly is amazing. I rave about it.

Listened to mine yesterday and found an awesome acoustic cover of The Only Way Is Up by Yazz :icon_lol:

Think it was by Stornoway.

My list did have a cover on it - Because the Night by Garbage and Screaming Females. I skipped it because it was fucking awful.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper.

It has been years since I heard the full album, and thankfully it stands the test of time.

sweet. some great female led alt rock around at the min
Heard half of another track they did recently and it was different, but also sounded good.
Need to spend an hour checking youtube etc to see if their album is worth a purchase.

On my Discover Weekly play list on Spotify, How Soon Is Now came on.

And I actually enjoyed it - the Johnny Marr live version (from the album Adrenalin Baby). I'm assuming it's because Morrissey's whining wasn't on it.

Good sound for a live album so I might go back and listen to the rest of it.

I have just listened to "A Beard of Stars" by Tyranosaurus Rex. It is years since I last heard it. Brilliant.

Have 2-3 weeks with some distinct paperwork and related tasks. Busy in a different way to usual. Lots of deadlines, then summer will be quiet.

Whilst working on reports and stats, I prefer generally instrumental or lyric-less music (or very minimal on the lyrics).

Todays find was this that has been great!

Totally get it. When Im not in class, I literally spend all day at my laptop with headphones in listening to this or some of the Back to Mine compilations, just ambient stuff to add some background noise while I work. Underworlds Back to Mine one was good. Art of Chill introduced me to Biosphere who I love....dark ambient soundscapes from Norway. if you liked Art of Chill, then you need to check out these:

Nightmares on wax - DJ Kicks
Nightmares on wax - Boiler Room set
Casino vs Japan - Blue Vacation pts 1-4
DJ Food - Rare Aphex twin gems
Tycho - Dive
Tosca - Suzuki
The Cinematic Orchestra - Everyday

These are my go to albums when filling in reports and my day is filled with great music.
