West Ham (A) Build Up and Matchday Thread

Maybe, but after three months of no football if your mentality is your first thought at seeing the team is to pick holes in it (the team Nuno has selected is a very good one regardless, let’s remember) then I just find it a bit sad. Each to their own though!

It's not picking holes in it. I've just spent three months looking forward to seeing Adama burst past someone and set up Raul, as I'm sure others have. But no doubt he'll doubt he'll do that in the 2nd half

Whatever your view of selection it's still a very good team with options on the bench

5 yrs ago we couldn't have said that at all

I'm perfectly happy with that 11 and the bench. Don't forget we get 5 subs (max three times, just in case you've been asleep for a while)

It makes sense to me, allow Adama time to run at a tired fullback or a fullback who hasn't quite yet into the game as he's just come on.

There’s obviously the chance that something silly happens and we concede first (we’ve often had some bad luck in that instance this season) and we end up need to change it to be more proactive - but I totally understand it. Deny them space in the middle, try to play 2v2 on the counter against a defence that doesn’t defend with space behind them well

Happy with the team, not at all surprised by Nuno's selection. No-one has any idea how these first few games are going to pan out, nothing wrong with being a bit cautious initially

I’ll always go with Nuno’s choices, he has seen the players in training and knows what he’s looking to achieve - and West Ham are awful once they’ve conceded first, so maybe he’s looking to ensure they don’t get ahead and hang on.

Personally, I’ve seen a lot of success in this restart from individuals going past a man, it’s been really effective so would have liked to see Adama start - but I’m sure he’ll get a run, and hopefully we’ll be a few up by then.

Looking forward to the game regardless, I’ve missed this (excitement and nervousness mixed!!)

The beer's open, Sky Sports is on the new TV and the Wolves top is on.

I'm far too excited about this so it's obviously all going to go tits up!

Rice in defence, and haller is out injured, seems positive. Haller had scored in their warm up games.

So someones going to have to help Rice, so should be gaps...

David Jones "it's West Ham against Watford tonight". Is he high?

fucking pumped boys football's back on lets gooooo

nice move by johnny there, first corner

We look excellent.

Good start from us

nice run from jota there, glad to see him getting some good movement straight away

Total control from us so far. Be nice to get a goal during this period.

This is where the ground being empty helps West Ham. Crowd would be all over them.

That's a let off.

our team is like the opposite of west hams...we have very good team spirit and everybody put in a shift for the team and just enjoying..cant be said for west ham
