Welcome to Wolves Matheus Cunha

RoJo having his shirt chucked back at him was like 10 instances of booing all at once.

Looking at Cunha's goal on Sunday and how he took it reminded me of just how good he can be . The people who think he shouldn't start for us any more need to re look at that .
He took it like a real old time striker , he sniffed it out long before he scored it , knew exactly what he was going to do and didn't delay the shot - Steve Bull like almost .
If he works hard off the ball along with his goals , then his place is nailed on .
There might only be 6 games left , but why shouldn't try and maximise our points total .

There's literally one person on here that I've seen who said he shouldn't start, some said he definitely should, some said they can kinda see the managers viewpoint. It's a bit of a straw man argument where TWF is concerned

Indeed. If anything the main discussion was over who he might replace knowing how much VP values the contributions of the much maligned Munetsi (trips off the tongue that, I might start just calling him that: MMM for short).

Not starting him against Spurs was one thing, but if he's still on the bench against Man Utd that that's a different beast altogether and will be something of a statement.

I'm sure Vitor is secretly hoping Bellegarde isn't fit so it takes the decision out of his hands.

I doubt he gives a flying fuck. He knows he isn't going to be here next season and he doesn't strike me as someone who cares about such things
True, I guess it just avoids the conversation though doesn’t it. Press hardly going to say ‘ so JRB injured why did you go Cunha over Sarabia’

As you say I very much doubt he cares, seems pretty forthright in what he does

If we want a serious chance of beating United, then we must start Cunha .

We have a serious chance without Cunha.

FWIW I’d still start him though
He is far more of a natural goal scorer than than most if not all of the players we played up front in his absence . We'd have a decent chance of beating United without him , but have a much greater chance with him on board .
Cunha can score from a half chance - that's the difference .

Vitor cares about winning , or having the ambition ( as he says himself ) to want to win . That's why he'll almost certainly start him .

I don’t disagree but you said we’d have to play him if we want a serious chance of beating them.

JSL scores goals tbf to him

Would think our midfield will have too much megs for them. Game for MMM 😉

I think it'll depend on training obviously as well. Vítor has already shown a willingness to drop Guedes/Doyle/Johnstone and say openly in his post match presser that it's because of a lack of application in training, it could easily work the other way if he sees Cunha (or anyone else for that matter) bursting a gut in training and decides that they deserve to be involved from the start.

That's one real positive about Munetsi btw, he's not just working hard on his own, the entire squad seem to be giving that extra 5% now and I feel that it's partly been down to him setting the standard (obviously not every player is going to be able to run as hard and for as long as Marshall seems to be able to).
