Welcome to Wolves Jorgen Strand Larsen

He seems to do that thing where he'll end up moving behind an opposition player. Maybe just called hiding from the ball. Not sure. But he seems to do it ha

A little bit of the problem with stats there - Tolu won zero aerial duels as united players backed off him as they knew they wouldn’t be successful. He wasn’t great yesterday but he did a very good job at retaining possession from hit and hope long balls. If he had a better player than Hwang to lay it off too we might have scored.

I can't quite explain it but I quite like what I see of Ak. He isn't scared of using his frame although don't think he does use it enough, however I would definitely like to see him starting more against sides where we shouldn't just be defending. I feel like his mental side of the game is good. Off ball runs, finding space, when to press etc.

Willian Joke was bloody terrible for that

(Probably don't need the last two words there)

Weird that we'd all be ecstatic to take Nuno back and yet he's wanting to spend £40m on this big sack of shit
I think everyone in the league knows he isn't trying, so look beyond it. Nobody would be interested in someone with 1 goal (a penalty) half way through the season. Last year's JSL becomes West Hams best number 9. Still a big call to overlook the personality flaw that highlights though

I still haven’t worked out if he’s not trying or he’s just not very good. It just doesn’t compute that a footballer can not try for 5 months yet still get picked every week.

I meant to do a stats comparison on FBref this morning to see if the numbers stack up on stuff like duels and aerials won etc (before all this stats chat) but didn’t get round to it before work.

In my head he was weak as piss last year (for a big man) we just didn’t notice it as much and wasn’t as relevant as we had other ways of progressing the ball forward.

Ditto. Why any manager at any level would accept sandbagging is anathema to me.

Combination of both. I choose to think he doesnt realise he's not giving it his all, its just the constant grind from the start of the season has worn him down, combined with his obvious weaknesses.
I accept the people going every game, spending loads of cash and time will have a very different view.

Asking to not play, sorry picking up an injury, for the Everton and Newcastle games doesn't exactly scream commitment. I'm not a tactics guru or stats enthusiast, but I've watched enough Wolves football over the years to know when a player isn't putting it in and the difference between that and lack of confidence.

I’m trying to compare his PL stats from 24/25 vs 25/26 but it isn’t letting me do it so having to compare them separately.

I mean it's obviously not all his fault as the team have been woeful and strikers will always suffer in those situations but anyone who's seen him play for even 10 minutes live this season can tell you how poor his attitude has been.

As far as my feelings are towards this team right now, we might as well have a team of Jamie O'Hara's and Roger Johnson's (with a few obvious exceptions). Jørgen might be the worst of them though because his body language and the motivation behind it is so obvious.

Well after having a little comparison, there ain’t much in it. The stats haven’t really changed (outside of goals and assists).

It doesn’t tell the whole story but it would back up that he is indeed trying, he just isn’t that good

There was a group by me last night who took umbrage at someone booing him last night. There was a fair few though singing “he’s Scandinavian”

You take away all the running in a team (as we did over the summer) and a striker like that just isn't ever going to do much.

Doesn't excuse him blatantly phoning it in multiple times.

Tolu is a big lug but his movement is miles better.

It must be soul destroying playing as a centre forward in the current Wolves team but that doesn’t excuse his lack of effort. Time after time he jogs towards an opponent in possession but there’s no conviction and no real effort to close the player down. It’s like he thinks by constantly jogging but never sprinting people won’t notice he isn’t really putting the requisite effort in. It’s the same with a lot of his aerial challenges, he jumps but there’s no conviction. He needs to be shown a video of Shearer or Duncan Ferguson and see how players who want to win the ball go into a challenge.

But that’s my point. He’s always been like that. He’s actually winning more aerial duels this year per90 but the win percentage is the same as last year. He’s being dispossed less, giving it away less, receiving the ball more. His defensive stats are all broadly the same.

He’s just a bit crap with an outlier season last year where he had a freakish shot conversion and had some good players around him setting him up.

As I said I think its in his head that he is still giving it his all despite what fans can see.
I'm in no way giving him a free pass and think he should be sold in January. I worry that Wolves asking price will be more than other Premier league teams think he's worth.
