Welcome to Wolves Jorgen Strand Larsen

I think he's broken into the Top 10 wankers to play for the club for me now and rises up the list on a weekly basis. Not sure I could name one in my 45 years of watching us who has played so many successive games without trying, which is an indictment on the 2 who keep/kept selecting him nearly as much as the man himself. I'm not having the lack of service/not playing to his strengths crap I've seen some defenders try and throw out. Yes, he's surrounded by rubbish with shit tactics, but he's not trying and hasn't all season

Now. Fuck off.

Correct. I wish him a career threatening injury. At best.

Our fullbacks are truly the shittest the team's had for at least a decade, there aren't any wingers and our only midfielders (outside of injured Bellegarde) are defensive holding mids. The lack of creativity, service to the forwards, any sort or balance to the squad let alone a gameplan from any manager are all huge fundamental issues for why this team has been so shit this season (all caused by the chaotic recruiting and dumpster fire that was Jeff Shi).

JSL's play, attitude and body language are all his own, there's no defending that. There is however, no shortage of explanations for why this team isn't scoring goals.

If this is him trying, we really need to stop playing him before someone doesn’t buy him. Don’t try an ask for too much from West Ham, just get him out. You can’t succeed as a poacher in this league, particularly when you’ve got no pace to run in behind. Couple that with being weak as piss and not being able to play with your back to goal or hold the ball up then you’ve got very little to work with

Jogged around and if he happened to get close to the ball made a semblance of a challenge but had absolutely no intention of winning the ball. So yes he was really bad but it’s what he’s been doing all season.

Weird that we'd all be ecstatic to take Nuno back and yet he's wanting to spend £40m on this big sack of shit

Didn't watch the game yesterday, was he really that bad?

On OneFootball app he actually has a higher rating than Arokodare. Larsen was not good but some people have decided how he played before he played.

Whilst he was pretty poor he took an important yellow after a terrible corner that was about to result in a counter. Won 2/4 duels, had a clearance. 13 touches in 25 minutes.

Arokodare zero aerial duels on there (but 3/4 oddly on another so not sure what that is about), 25 touches for comparison. (Had much better passing and won the ball twice in opp half)

I would start Arokodare but people are acting like Strand just stood there. That isn't true.

He did more than literally stand still. True. But he was atrocious by the reasonable expectations of Wolves fans - on reflection. Also true.
There might be an app saying he was better than Arokodare but it’s evidently wrong. I’ll be perfectly fine with us getting rid in January and his ‘efforts’ this season are a real disgrace. People pay a lot of money and spend a lot of time to go an encourage him, and he’s put fck all effort in. So he can bugger off the lazy git. It’s pretty simple, and I don’t need Statman Dave or his ilk to justify their existence by telling me black is white when I’ve got my own pair of eyes.

Apologies - no criticism of you BMB, but the ‘here comes the science’ bit of modern football analysis does my head in a bit when it discounts the discretion of the watching fan.

No apologies needed. I did say he wasn't good and I wouldn't start him. But similarly I hate when people say him (or anyone) didn't make a challenge or win a header when thats not true. I was always taught coaching is off the ball and your eyes are trying to confirm what your brain is thinking. Hence why I always like to check what I thought I have seen, with stats and data, and then often from different sites as there is always little variables. Hence why you can't just trust stats.

Get that isn't how everyone wants to enjoy football.

A little bit of the problem with stats there - Tolu won zero aerial duels as united players backed off him as they knew they wouldn’t be successful. He wasn’t great yesterday but he did a very good job at retaining possession from hit and hope long balls. If he had a better player than Hwang to lay it off too we might have scored.

As per my comment in the matchday thread at the time, we lost any ability that we previously had to hold the ball up, any movement or pace on the counter after JSL came on. Tolu just looked far more interested in being involved. He held the ball up, connected with Mane well - and won his fair share of headers. JSL in comparison has either lost the ability to impact games of football or just isn’t trying.

At the moment I’d just like to enjoy the football somehow!
