Welcome to Wolves - Conor Coady

So, he’s not scouse. It’s like calling us Brummies.

Scouse isn’t somebody who supports Liverpool.

Born in Liverpool, supports Liverpool, sounds like he's from Liverpool. If it looks like a scouser, swims like a scouser and quacks like a scouser it must be a scouser

As for 'sign on', it's pathetic, unoriginal, hypocritical and makes us sound like Premier League tourists.

Irrespective of where Coady or anyone else connected with the club originates from, its a really pathetic song and frankly is extremely embarrassing.

Agreed. I thought singing about a club not even in the same league was more embarrassing though.

Fuck me Penk, has Parkin stolen your login details?

In Liverpool they would call Coady a wool rather than a scouser as he's not really from the city. Wherever he is from isn't all that relevant to the point that in a city with a good amount of poverty and unemployment ourselves we shouldn't be singing that - although I doubt it is members of this forum who are singing it anyway.

Doesn't change the discussion on the song being relevant. We still do the keeping jeering thing too which irks me more. As just makes us look like a non league side.

Congrats to him, but also Nuno for having the vision to use him in the sweeper role he performs today so admirably. Who would have thought, eh? :D

I still wonder if the original plan for for Miranda to be first choice there. But whatever happened, Coady made that role his own and looked so quickly like it suited him, with his diagonal passes and ability to cover. I never would have guessed before Nuno arrived though!

Think that's what happened in our first pre-season friendly. I remember watching it on some crappy stream with Coady was on the bench - all you could hear was him shouting out to the players on the pitch. Think Nuno liked that.

Nah, Coady definitely played the first one. We were in Bala watching the U23s (#hardcore) and saw the team set up with three at the back and Coady in the middle. "No chance" was the consensus. And here we are.

In one of the other games on the tour Coady went off at HT (pre-planned) and that's when you could hear him yelling away.

Great reading these old threads to see not only how Coady has progressed but also the club in general... Wallace, Rowe, Price, Edwards, Saville!
