Vitor sacked

Would be a ground for suspension due to a breach of contract, pending investigation on a gross misconduct which could involve a long process.

Depends on how boro want to be over the situation if they don't have an agreement with Forum Favourite Jeff Shi.
Clubs don't hold out. Because they can't.

The closest you'll get is Simon Jordan stopping Blues taking Steve Bruce. Nearly 25 years ago, and he still went in the end anyway.

Trivia question.

Other than possibly Sammy Chapman (as no one was sure at the time whether either spell was permanent or caretaker...) have we ever had a caretaker manager come back a few years later as a permanent manager?

I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Niche!

Brian Little was probably close at one point, I bet we looked at him when we sacked Turner and maybe even McGhee.

Bill McGarry remains our only ever two-time permanent manager.

John Ward did a couple of caretaker spells didn't he, not that it counts?

I bet the list of caretakers is quite a good question in itself.

In my time (I didn't see Little):

Peter Shirtliff
Bobby Downes
Colin Lee (became permanent)
John Ward
Stuart Gray
Terry Connor
Rob Edwards
Steve Davis
James Collins

Looking him up, Bobby Downes in late 1995 was only a couple of years older than I am now. Sat next to Taylor here. WTF!

People did not age well then.

Sid Cowans is 36 there.

Knowing us he missed the presser because he had nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea...
Funnily enough those are all symptoms from watching Wolves this season.

Yep Simon Jordan on talkshite (first time I’ve listened in an age, before I get the pep talk)
Banging on about loyalty and giving Steve Gibson a chance etc
Same bloke who bombed out Steve Coppell asap etc
Football and loyalty aren’t compatible.

Results are everything. Fans are way harsher for wanting players dropped than any coach or chairman. Absolute legend status somewhere might buy you a bit more time but I've seen Bully get booed.

It was. Little bit of bitterness which is understandable but very balanced overall. Let's be real though - the most ruthless and cynical people at any club are the fans - if he'd lost 10 in a row no fucks would be given about him.
Yep, initially I thought , yeah I agree with them but then you look back at football in recent years and managers/coaches get no time at all to turn things round. Managers have to look after themselves, however Edwards can't be in his right mind if he thinks swapping Boro for Wolves atm is in any way a good move. I dont pay a load of attention to Boro but Gibson seems one of the better club leaders. Shi on the other hand has to be one of the worst, he manages to combine getting rid to soon with also getting rid to late.

Boro remove RE from today's game

This was an interesting listen.

I feel like they have been living on a different planet. With all due respect this stuff happens in football all the time.

'Boro have also refused Wolves permission to speak to Edwards

There’s a 99% we will be in the same league next year. He gets more money and gets to live at home. I really doubt it’s any deeper than that.
