Vitor sacked

One thing we can forget about is the club employing anyone good.

We couldn't even attract Michael Beale under this regime, so we're looking at mediocrities like O'Neil again or another journeyman/Mendes stooge, unless Shi has had a brain and personality transplant

If they had any sense they'd push out a statement or idea to whoever that O'Neill isn't being considered to shut any of that down.

If they go back to him I am actually fully done with them.
Na, they like that story as they know the majority will be relieved with anyone other than GON.

There is half a chance, given the finances at stake, that they do just throw a 'cant say no' salary at a Southgate/Carsley/ETH type. They've done it before and given the start and the squad I don't think it's a relegation that would harm a career as long their individual ppg was respectable

I wouldn't give him the job, but Gareth Southgate comes higher in my shortlist than most these names and we do like a former England manager
Third time lucky?! Not that he’d even answer a call from Shi.

If we bring back Gary O'Neil then we're a complete laughing stock. It's completely tinpot, apart from Sheff U with Wilder and Peterborough with Ferguson I can only think of Stoke sacking and re-hiring Pulis within a year that is at all similar.

O'Neil has a lot of mates in the media so I'm clinging to it being a story they are circulating on his behalf.

Gareth Southgate never has to work again if he doesn't want to.

Not a hope he'd take this on.

Our wanker section of fans would properly hate him too.

Well his mates have failed spectacularly in getting him a job elsewhere, can’t think why!

They might wish to do that but I guess anyone at that level looking at Wolves would see what happened with Lop.

If Conor Coady didn't think Jeff Shi is a cunt (he does, and he is) then he might be a leftfield shout. Wrexham hasn't worked out, his playing days are coming to an end (I'd still pick him over Santi Blades, mind), he seems ideal for coaching/management and he loves the Wolves.

Only logic with O'Neil is that they really did believe their own nonsense that he was a coaching savant and didn't want to sack him the first time. Now that we're very likely going down they'll let him keep the job in the Championship.

VP thanks everybody but the fans on his farewell Instagram post.

That thought occurred to me. Apparently he’s doing his coaching badges with Robbie Savage.

Those managers had had success before though.

I said this to my mate, earlier, funnily enough.

Coady would be absolutely perfect.

As has been said, we’ve got fuck all chance of a manager with a decent pedigree so next best is a feel-good appointment like Coady.

Fans would give him a break, too, hopefully.

Joao Moutinho would be nice, too 🤣🤣

It would give him an out from a proper toxic situation at Wrexham - maybe as a number two with Carsley? Wouldn’t argue with that 🤔

Andy Hessenthaler loved a stint with Gillingham. But that's looking back a fair while now.

'They'?

I thought it was just Hobbs who had a hard-on for O'Neil?

Wilder is liked by loads of Blades though and many disagreed with the insane sacking prior to them even announcing it was going to be Selles, so there is a big difference there.

Many people felt O'Neill was a poor decision the first time around, its staggering seeing the swell of opinion around him from outside the wwfc fan bubble, no idea how his reputation has improved during his time away.
