Vitor sacked

Wilder is liked by loads of Blades though and many disagreed with the insane sacking prior to them even announcing it was going to be Selles, so there is a big difference there.

Many people felt O'Neill was a poor decision the first time around, its staggering seeing the swell of opinion around him from outside the wwfc fan bubble, no idea how his reputation has improved during his time away.
It’s the Denes Rosa principle. The longer you don’t see an individual the greater their reputation.

Only logic with O'Neil is that they really did believe their own nonsense that he was a coaching savant and didn't want to sack him the first time. Now that we're very likely going down they'll let him keep the job in the Championship.
Only logic with GoN is that his name is being bandied about as a dead cat to deflect from Fosun/Jeff being called out by the national media.

'They'?

I thought it was just Hobbs who had a hard-on for O'Neil?
Very true. Just scrambling for any kind of rationale! More fool me.

Trying to think if there's any appointment that would be exciting in this context. A good coach like Conceicao will most likely be gone by May anyway.

I could live with that, at least they might leave the club in some sort of good order. Based on past performance the likelihood of a manager leaving Wolves in an upward direction is very, very unlikely.

The anti Southgate thing is funny, same bloke who’s done more for the national side than anybody in nearly 60 years, reversed the QF narrative isn’t that bad narrative, reversed the playing for England is chore attitude. Turned us into a latter stages side as opposed to plucky triers. Yep didn’t get over the line in 2 finals but England are by far in a better place because of him.
I’ll go as far to say I wouldn’t want him here because he’s to good to have Jeff and these bunch of players inflicted on him.
Pure snobbery for any Pl club mid table or lower to think they’re above him.

I don't think Southgate would be a great fit anyway.

His biggest successes have come getting the best out of stars with lots of talent and egos to match, and we don't have any stars

There was the odd link to Daniele De Rossi a few months ago, the one about the club considering replacing Vitor with him which seemed ludicrous at the time
