Villa 0-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

No-one can count this season as anything but a right off. Every team has struggled at some point. Apart from Man City, who obviously relish playing with no fans (see last years results, particularly against us).

As for today. I have no idea why we would go out first half and play like they had never played with each other at anytime in their lives.
Maybe they like to get a Mike Bassett at half time. Luckily we didn't go down 3-0 and give 3 cheers to Ramirez!

Second half (again) we come out like they know each other again. We need Boly back. Donk is not who we need in defence. Semedo is Capt Calamity every match at some point. If he was a car you'd want to send him back under warranty as not fit for purpose.

Traore. If he had a football brain of any sort he would be dangerous. I love him, but if Nuno lives till he's 300 he won't see the best of him.

Saiss's miss ranks as the worse of all time in a Wolves shirt. Even more than Emlyn Hughes miss back in the day in the FA cup at Molineux (can't remember the year). We miss Raul more than we realise and it'll be a great day when he's back, because WJ isn't even close to what Raul is.

I guess at least we didn't lose this game, but i just can't wait for the season to finish. Just like the players, and folks on here. It's dull, dull, desperately dull..

Traore literally wasn't interested today, I do hope all this transfer speculation is not weighing on the lad !

I wouldn't say it was necessarily dull as both teams did at least try to attack at points. I've seen far worse Wolves games under Nuno, including when we were allegedly the Harlem Globetrotters last season.

Assessment of those individuals is right, the reason they had the better of the first half (although Rui made 0 saves) is that their centre forward moves and ours doesn't. I can't overstate what a burden he is, just standing around expecting someone to pass to him (it's then 50/50 whether he keeps it or not, and even if he does he'll just lay it off 3-5 yards). I'm sure he must know football doesn't work like that so no idea what's going on. He can't be *this* bad. Surely.
It's almost like WJ has never played for a football team before, and all he's done before is just kick the ball about behind his house. There must be some sort of issue going on with him aside from football for him to be so bad on the field.

This season can't finish soon enough for me. I hope that Nuno can see is family soon, it must be a bad time for him. Lets hope that next season will have the team playing first halves better than they are now. If we are as poor as this season I can't see Fosun not taking action regarding a change as far as the manager is concerned. After all it is a results business. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen.

he just doesnt fit in our park the bus team..sociedad actually attack

Game of 2 halves Clive. Edged it overall and we had the better chances.

Pluses: Set pieces, Semedo, Coady, Neto
Minuses: Donk, another shit first half

4231 rest of the season please. There really is no point in persisting with the same old.

Not sure what's worse. This season where will finish an average mid table team or people's moods. Does it show how far we have come that we are all furious and tired at a potential 12th place finish?

Anyway. 10 to go and we can all agree that was shit, go to the pub, on holidays, hug loved ones and get over excited whenever we sign a player and then proper football* returns where we can fuck the TV off and attend.

*If Covid variants allow

Record when WJ starts: 3W, 3D, 1L
Record when FS starts: 2W, 2D, 3L
Yeah but we've lost 1 in 6 with Dendoncker at centre half. You wouldn't use that stat to defend his performances or suggest he's been integral to anything we've done. He's in awful form, everyone points out how badly he's playing.

José isn't doing anything, I've heard about his "physical presence" but he's not much better than Fabio in that respect, he also gets knocked off the ball really easily and actually wins even less in the air. He never even looks like scoring, he has no idea where to run or what positions to take up, he's harder to find than Selhurst Park.

We aren't signing him, he isn't contributing so he may as well not play.

12th in the Premier League is not the end of the world by any stretch especially considering its better than the vast majority of what most of us have seen for over 90 percent of our time supporting the club.

It's how you get there as well though and the performances this season on the whole have just been ultra dull. People aren't looking forward to watching Wolves at the moment and while covid hasn't helped everyone has had to deal with it and some average to poor teams have overtaken us during the last 12 months which is a shame.

Nah. He takes up good positions in the area just that we seem to think crossing from open play is a sin or when do we manage it we put the ball into no man's land. Neto gets it he will go near post or pulls back to the penalty spot. Traore gets it...Well he waits to see what he is going to do which today was the square root of fuck all.

We signed a player who works on balls into the box and to date we have put exactly 1 cross to him and a couple where he has pulled players to the near post and the ball has gone back stick. As much as you are not a fan I guess he is not a fan of touching the ball more in his own half than the penalty area.

how many games has he played/started?
Don't know, don't care. Enough to have scored at least one you'd think. It was a flippant comment.

Willian José does not look shit because of how we play, there is a much more obvious root cause.

For this to work though you have to imagine that we suddenly start putting better/more crosses in when Fabio comes on, which surely can't be the case. Because he gets quite a few chances off them.
