He's always attacked individuals on a personal level when whey oppose him or make negative comments about him and Zelensky is just next in line. So I'm not sure 'deranged' is the right description.

Morally bankrupt and a preparedness to use any lie, insult or underhand tactic to further a 'what's in it for me' MO I think would be a more appropriate description and that's prob US policy for the forseeable.

If he gets the rights he wants out of Ukraine, by whatever means, his party and base will lap it up and say he's done a great deal for the US, precisely why they voted for him and a big FU to anyone who disagrees. I imagine it will be portrayed that way by the usual suspects over here too.
 
Perhaps Boris could give Trump a call and explain how he is wrong in words of one syllable. Couldn’t get enough of his photo opportunities with Zelensky at the start of the war yet deafeningly quiet now.

Which would of course not at all be related to Boris's close relationship with several Russian oligarchs, who may or may not have money withheld by those particular countries.

The man will always be a self serving cunt.

You may be right, maybe my use of words is a bit out of kilter. Anyway what ever the semantics, Trump is a very dangerous individual and I worry for my children and grandchildren. Hopefully future generations will see what Trump, Putin and other megalomaniacs for what they are and get the leaders they deserve.
 
The only way I see it going now is that Zelenskyy either has to come to a compromise of some sorts with the Trump\US position, or the US will pull their support. Europe won’t be able to bridge the weapons/funding gap so Russia will effectively have an easier task of taking whatever they want.
There has to be a carrot thrown Zelenskyy’s / Ukraine’s way to enable them to negotiate and hold their heads high or I really fear the worse.

Hard to see it going any other way.
 
They'd agreed a peace deal years ago but then Boris was like 'let's fucking ave it!' and they changed their minds. He's basically committed us to defending them to the death. He won't be going himself of course.
 
For me, Ukraine is Europe's Iraq. Everyone has an ulterior motive and are in it for gain and the people of Ukraine pay the ultimate price.
