Ukraine

It's absolutely fucking mental. "They've been in this for three years, they could have done a deal, they didn't have to start this" ffs. I'm sure he'd have the same attitude if Russian boots landed on Alaska.

Insult to injury is how popular his strategy is with his base, they've always been so vocal about their distrust of Zelenskiy, accusing him of money laundering and all sorts of stuff. They're fucking insane

One of their favourite points to push on the money laundering is that Zelensky bought a £4 million Bugatti and a beachfront mansion in Crimea ( obviously drives from Kyiv down to there every Friday for weekends away), the dumb maga lot think it’s actual physical money he gets when the news reports $10 billion in aid to Ukraine, when it’s actually older weapons systems that the US doesn’t need or use anymore and would be scrapping

Trump would do well to learn about the Marshall plan after the end of WW2. Except this time it'll be China's allies rather than Russia

Trump basically telling Ukraine it’s your fault that Russia invaded you.
Having an egotistical leader in the Kremlin and Whitehouse at the same time can be dangerous.
Could argue that they balance each other out but conversely it leaves things on a constant knife edge.

I hope this is a wake up call for Europe and the UK. You can have all the nice ideals in the world, but if you don't have a sufficient military capability, you are basically irrelevant, in today's world.
I also think, that many different voices from European countries and not speaking with one voice, will be seen as a weakness, from those wishing to do us harm.

Uh oh, now Zelensky has said President Musk, I mean Trump is living in a bubble of misinformation (lies is more accurate), I wonder what happens next.

Perhaps a coup d'etat by stealth i.e. take the peace deal and give me 50% of your countries mineral wealth, or all support will be withdrawn and Putin has free reign until you sue for peace, at which point I will see you replaced. Then I will take my 50%+ and Russia keeps whatever it has taken in its land grab.

I'll stick my neck out and say I'm not far off unless Ukraine caves.

If trump goes through with this what does it do to the value of being an ally of the US? It's unbelievably short sighted as it empowers Russia & China far more than it does the US.

If Russia takes the Ukraine then Russia & china are the net winners, EU and Ukraine are the losers and the US starts to have fewer allies.

I just don't understand the logic here unless trump thinks the US is untouchable and doesn't need allies

D'oh just realised, trump is playing Risk by getting Europe and Russia to fight each other whilst the US won't be involved anymore.

He will definitely believe the US is untouchable, also he won't have applied any thought to your other points.

Trump:

Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation.

I used to think Trump was just a bit dumb and a lot self serving bit it turns out he is quite deranged.

I honestly think he’s actual moronic as would be shown if he took tests, remember how he bragged how good he was at that cognitive test that tests for dementia? Where he had to remember four objects, couple of times it’s been mentioned he’s an IQ of 73

I worry about the old eastern block countries. There is already a lot of anti European sentiment. If a country votes a way that the EU doesn't like and Russian interference is given as the reason, I can see Russia not accepting this, knowing that the US isn't likely to get involved. It is so important that the EU and UK spend a lot more on arms and not permit countries not to pay their way.
There really needs to be a European army, under one control, well armed and very highly trained.

Not to be glib, but that’s NATO to at least some extent, no?

Not really. The perceived transition to a European Army was one of the pro Brexit arguments
