UEFA Nations League & Euro 2020 Qualification

Been a reasonable game for a 0-0. We missed a load of good chances, should have buried them.

Midfield is still a shitshow but we knew that anyway.

Its a foul. Right call.

The answer is not to foul!
The answer is for the ref to see it in normal play, not have the players and fans celebrate then cup your hand to your ear for 2 minutes, then go and watch a tele for another minute and then give the decision. It's shite and is going to take some enjoyment out of the game. Like I say I couldn't give a toss whether the right decision is made or not in the end, it's just so mechanical

Its the right call but the very element of why we go to games is ruined. Score = go mental in the moment. Now its score = go mental get told to calm down fuckers it doesn't count so it will become score = wait until the ref gives the thumbs up and then the moment has passed. A very watered down version indeed
Only the same as a try or a wicket.

no complaints about the design but as others have said the prime piece of adrenaline you get at a game is when the ball hits the net and you go mental.

It was a full on pull back. No complaints from me.

Yup! If its not given the other way everyone goes mental. Players will have to realise that they're no longer gonna be able to do things like this and get away with it. Defenders have had to do the same, so attackers will have too as well.

LIke I said, we are going to have to change how we celebrate and it is going to take some getting used to week in week out. I have no issue with VAR just pointing out the big difference it will make when watching the game.

Do celebrations at Twickenham get dampened these days when someone goes over the line? Not that I've noticed.

Plus everyone on here has celebrated 100+ 'goals' and then it's 'oh, the flag was up, didn't see that' or 'the ref blew, didn't hear him'.

It'll change nothing.

Emotion when celebrating a goal is spontaneous anyway. If you can control it and think "oh we've gotta wait for VAR" then your reactions probably weren't that spontaneous in the first place.

So its checked for red cards, penalties and goals? fair enough no problems but its not getting every decision spot on ie Ronaldo's free kick on Wednesday shouldn't have been given which led to the goal. Its not used to determine whether a corner is a corner that leads to a goal. Not saying it should be but its not making a game completely error free or completely fair.

I think it changes it fundamentally personally.

I really REALLY don't like it at all.

3 more good chances gone in the space of a few minutes.

Changes what?

As I say, what is your reaction when Wales score a try? But you know it could be pulled back and disallowed on review?

TAA's delivery from open play is gonna rival David Beckham before long. If it already doesn't.

You have used that analogy repeatedly. I don't think it is the same, personally.

To explain - most of the time when there is a review of a Wales try in that situation I am either supremely confident it is okay, or I have seen something in the build up like a possible forward pass (watching on telly - I haven't seen Wales live for some years sadly). When it is something like that tiny margin offside the other night you would have no idea and (correct as it might be) the moment of elation is taken away. I don't want VAR polluting football. I would much prefer the odd dodgy decision than taking the moment of joy of a goal away for those in the ground.

It is a huge mis-step. And I will forever be anti it.

Tell me how it's different then...

Or Broad gets Warner lbw in a few weeks...we all go wild...Warner reviews...

Back to the game, Walker has been dreadful since he came on.

It's nowhere near the same Cricket is much slower paced anyway. Can't compare that to football. VAR in its current format is shit

You're celebrating an event. In no way do I watch us take a wicket and think 'hang on, can't cheer yet because it could be a no ball'. It's a terrible argument.

I agree communication in the stadium itself needs to be far better.

A few years ago we got a penalty vs Brighton and then the ref changed his mind and booked Dicko for diving.

Does anyone at Molineux not celebrate when we win a pen now in case the same happens again? Best wait until the taker's actually put the ball on the spot?

It's not going to stop people celebrating when the ball hits the back of the net.

Worst case scenario is you celebrate, then get told a minute later that it's been disallowed. You've not lost any celebration or the goal. And if it gets confirmed as a goal, you get to celebrate again.
