We got the vote back in 2000 (shouldn't have really, as our fans repeatedly prove that democracy doesn't work). I think I've gone:

2000: Bazeley
2001: Naylor
2002: Lescott
2003: Miller
2004: Rae
2005: Lescott
2006: Miller
2007: Murray
2008: Kightly
2009: Ebanks-Blake
2010: Doyle
2011: Fletcher
2012: Fletcher
2013: Sako
2014: Ricketts
2015: Sako
2016: Price
2017: Costa
2018: Neves
2019: Coady

not Rankine then?

Rankine wasn't a public vote (1995). It was one of the Supporters Clubs. Can't remember which one.

An absolute Brexit of a decision, although Camara in 2004, Craddock in 2010, Stearman in 2015 and Doherty in 2016 run it close.

went for Jota, but frankly i could have gone for anyone from raul, Moutinho, Coady, Boly and old uncle Tom Cobbley an all, an all.

Gone for Moutinho. His experience shines through, great to watch. Bought into the Wolves story and puts in 100%.

Could have gone for Coady or Jimenez too, so that's 1 attacker, midfielder and defender :)

Boly - always excellent even when we aren't. Strong, great in the air and comfortable on the ball.

Jimenez, Coady, Moutinho all very worthy contenders though.

Sorry, I couldtnt resist that.I thought it was a bit early for the list but lobbed the grenade anyway. I knew it made ya bristle!

I'm still raging about it now tbf.

I think the Stearman/Doherty ones were even more stupid though and I question the legitimacy of the Camara one given the circumstances.

Such a tough call.

Considered Moutinho, Raúl and Boly but in the end went for Patrício. IMO he's had the same kind of impact on our season that Matt Murray did in Mick McCarthy's first year as Wolves boss. Won us so many points with brilliant saves, especially in the first 2 or 3 months. That save against Sterling is one of the best I've seen live.

I know we’re all supporters and everyone’s opinion is valid etc, but I literally can’t get my head round this.

Patricio has been fine. He is a good keeper. Has he been as good as I hoped? Probably not.

But player of the season? Ahead of people like Jimenez, Doherty, Coady, Boly who have had truly break out seasons in the wider English football public consciousness? Nonsense. Complete, objective tosh.

Patricio has cost us more than he’s saved us, in my opinion.

Has to be Moutinho for me. By quite some way.

When I watched Neves last year, he was the best thing I’d ever seen in a Wolves shirt, I literally couldn’t believe we’d got him.

Then, this season, I’ve seen Moutinho.

Not a single vote for Neves, who'd have thought that 12 months ago?

Certainly wouldn't have thought it after Everton.

Still can't shake the feeling that he isn't all there mentally for some reason.

Since I've been voting I think I went for these:

2011: Jarvis
2012: Hennessey
2013: Sako
2014: McDonald
2015: Sako
2016: Can't remember, think I might have voted for Jordan Graham. Might not have even voted.
2017: Costa
2018: Coady

He's just had another kid so that could count for something. I just think he's just finding his feet in the PL though really, it's easy to forget how young he is and the majority of the midfields he's coming up against are light years ahead of what he was facing last season (Man Utd excepted). I reckon he'll be a different player next season.

He's playing a deeper role, which largely benefits the team but is to his detriment.

Yes, he's transitioning to a different position. Better for him, us and Portugal going forward, but more difficult for him to shine atm

There's nothing wrong with Neves, I don't understand where the criticism is coming from.
