Trump

From what I've read the 'framework' allows the US to directly control parts of Greenland as sovereign territory. Meaning it would not have to seek permits or planning permission from anyone if it wanted to mine on its soil.
That almost certainly just means the existing USAF base(s) there, which, to the best of my knowledge, are sovereign territories unto themselves.

If this framework is true he has the same rights as UK over RAF Akrotiri. So he could mine on his little airbase, but the runway might get in the way. Would be bloody funny if there were huge mineral finds just over the fence and Denmark stuck a mine there with a big fuck you poster on it looking over into Trump's little fiefdom.

I'm sure lots of us know people who served in Afghanistan, the comments by Trump last night are really a new low. Lost for words if I'm honest.
Beyond disgusting.

And this is why Labour should be tying Farage to Trump right now. Much, much more decisively. While he’s still happy to walk into it. With bonds that just cannot be broken. Then chuck him over the side with him, because there are some things the majority of the British population won’t stand for. It’s not only a decent strategy, it’s the only strategy to stop Reform. I can’t believe they aren’t all over it. If they understood Trump won’t stop going down this path, and weren’t so squeamish about positive patriotism, they’d be doing it better already. Tolerate the POTUS as they have to, but win the national battle at the same time.

Take a look at Question Time last night, they are on with it. Reform voters are zealots, they can excuse anything.

An interesting take...

I was having a decent morning, man!

It’s pretty amazing that we’re having ex-intelligence people concretely suggesting the dissolution of the US. I’m for that, in a vacuum, but it would leave us in such a dangerous place. Multiple civil wars and God only knows what role the USAF would play, with their connections to states being symbolic (the SSBN Colorado isn’t actually under control of the State of Colorado, for example, although the irony of Colorado owning a ballistic submarine would be fantastic).

My wife’s sister married an American, and moved over to the US. They’ve got a son, about 4 years old, and are coming back to the UK as soon as the little lad gets a British passport.

They’re just completely fed up with Trump.

Can’t think of a good reason for them to stay. I fear we still haven’t hit rock bottom.

An interesting take...

Slight hyperbole.
None of the Republican Party, the Supreme Court, or the military leadership are as completely enamoured of mango man as the author thinks/fears.
He does not have a complete grip and will lose more as his mystique wears off.
That is not to say that a Democrat will take office in 2029, merely that it is quite possible.
