Fair point Denny; my brother in law is still very close to the military in his work and, at least in the Navy, the Officer class is extremely uncomfortable with where this is all heading.

I don’t think there’s a single Officer in any branch who respects Hegseth, for a start. Disobeying orders is incredibly fraught, though. They have the right to disobey “unlawful orders”, but the burden of proof is on the disobedient soldier.

Unfortunately, for most folks here this will have been how they learned that Denmark was ever involved at all.

I’d like to imagine that “freedom ain’t free” people would find the minimization of other soldiers, allied soldiers, as abhorrent, but Trump gets away with an absolute ton of abhorrent shit. I’m mostly guessing, though. The big media names here seem reticent to zoom in on it for now, probably because Brendan Carr (FCC Chairman) is a fucking fascist who won’t hesitate to fuck with broadcast licenses for all sorts of obviously political reasons (see: the Jimmy Kimmel fiasco).

Tl,dr; if Renee Good didn’t make someone uncomfortable with Trump, I doubt insulting Danish soldiers will move the needle for them.

At the end of the day, he's called dead US servicemen "losers" as well as GHWB and McCain for getting shot down and in McCains case captured, so I cant imagine this having any impact of the cultists. He could probably go full blown Jimmy Saville and it would have no affect

I would imagine we will see a higher turnout than in 2020, even. We probably would have done in 2024, too, but moderate white men in this country who largely turned up for Biden just stayed home for Kamala. Funny, that.

To your point, our turnout is by far the lowest of any “Western” country I can think of. By a huge margin IIRC.
