Trump

"We are going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not,’

Guy needs a bullet ASAP. Or at the very least someone to get in his stupid orange face and tell him to stop. Obviously the former seems more likely with the spineless cretins he has in his government.

Read a few of the comments on that, shows exactly why Trump feels he can say and do whatever he likes
Just can't tolerate cunts like them anymore. This is who they are, or at least who they end up becoming. The Anti Nazi League had the right idea.

Not that I am aware of he hasn't. Give it a year and i am sure he will put feelers out
Paddy, I subscribe to both the NYTimes and the Washington Post.
Somewhere around a week or 10 days ago I read a piece in one of them....
I tend to bin them once Iv'e done so don't know if I'll be able to find it...
It was about him rewriting his least liked bits of the constitution...

He currently bombing Syria, mind you we did that 3-4 nights ago so probably not news

"22nd Amendment only requires that someone not be elected to the Presidency more than twice. Someone who was elected to two terms on his own is still eligible to be Vice President and to rise to the Presidency upon the death, resignation or removal of the President".
The 22nd Amendment doesn't say what you think it says https://share.google/rB2svnw0iQW2XdcI0

They wouldn’t do that by deceit, they would be upfront. Vote Vance and Trump for VP and Vance will agree to step down immediately he takes office. The cultists would vote for that.

Three years is a very long time, but he is already starting to lose grip on his party, plus he will be 3 years more senile by then. His ego may not accept anything less than total control but I cannot see him in charge of the country in 2029.

We will see.

Part of me wants the whole JD Vance as president on the ticket with Trump as VP (with agreement that Vance will resign on day 1) followed by a new version of the House of Cards scene with Vance refusing to sign the resignation and saying "my turn".

Then I remembered Vance is just as much of a prick and my enthusiasm for the scene waned.

I am reminded of this point that Trump actively told people that they only had to vote last time, then never again...

"Oh no, we can't hold elections for this cycle because of completely made-up reasons".

I'm honestly amazed that anyone believes that waiting for the election to get him out is even a strategy. There will not be elections. He's said it, it's written in the Project 2025 playbook. The US is already a fascist state. Elections are not going to change that. The opposition in America has to wake up and fast and realise that hoping for an election to remove Trump is a fantasy. I don't know what the answer is, it isn't easy or obvious, but I'm certain the answer isn't electoral.

You are right and I don’t know what the answers are either.

The opposition are in a real pickle though as he wants a de facto war against the left and uprisings feed directly into that but they can’t do nothing.

We’re fast-tracking to exactly the same thing here in the U.K., with the emphasis of attack shifting from those supposedly seeking to harm us, to those enablers (traitors/naive fools etc etc) of those seeking to harm us.

It’s why Polanski is the dream ticket for the right. He’s brilliant at tapping into the bedrock of those desperate to stop this and who want to fight fire with fire, but it’s catch 22 and if you want to escalate to full on war it’s one you need to be damn sure you can win.

Looks like in the US at least both sides are already at the point of no return and pretty clear by now the protestors at least have no other choice.

It's not "the left" though, is it? Other than in the minds of the far-right brigade anyway. It's anyone vaguely left, centre, even centre-right.

If former senior Tory party leaders like John Major etc are speaking out against Trump, Farage and the rest of the far right, then the clues should be there even for what I like to call "misguided but meaning well Tories" rather than the actively evil wing.
