In my field there's a very attractive position come up in Taipei. I wasn't going to apply because of a number of factors including my awareness of the increasingly tense China-Taiwan situation.
After events in the last year across the world, I cannot for the life of me see any benefit in exchanging my cushy number in the Moselle Valley and Luxembourg for any project in any country at risk. That currently means nowhere in the Americas, Africa, Eastern Europe or Asia. This isn't the world we dreamed of and worked for.
And, what is more I ain't living in a UK governed by Farage. Having watched that dangerous idiot from abroad and having listened to the political idiots on the South Bank today, the state of this country worries me.
