There goes Julen!

It is most unusual to say the least . Getting 3 points off Everton was fantastic and good enough in itself , but for it to be accompanied by all other teams around us losing is a nice bonus .

The Spanish coach is already impressing and Nathan Collins explained how. “The World Cup break was like a mini pre-season. He drilled us every day, meetings every day, on the pitch, off the pitch and drilled everything into us. It was good for us and well needed. We went to Marbella for a week. He has injected a bit of energy. We trust him, he trusts us and the relationship is just so good. We are backing each other and fighting for each other,” said the defender. “We have always had the players, it was just finding that and he has given us belief. We trust him and he trusts us. Straight away what he has done tactically for every game has been spot on nearly.”
Even the players saying it's the difference between night and day...

"Before Saturday's league trip to Southampton, he spoke to Spanish football writer Guillem Balague about a wide range of topics, including self-improvement and how Johan Cruyff influenced him.

You can watch the full interview on Football Focus on BBC One on Saturday from 12:00 BST."

Any slight concern that in two consecutive away games (Man City/Southampton) we've started with the wrong side/formation, played crap, conceded, and had to make multiple changes at HT?

Yet weirdly sandwiched in between we had a brilliant first half against Liverpool.

It was also somewhat enforced with Hwang and Podence being unavailable. He tried something, it didn't work.

If Neto can get up to speed enough to play some minutes it lessens the odds of having to do that again.

City...Well you can get the perfect set up and if City fancy it then fuck all you can do really (seems Pep now fancies playing us and wants to destroy us every time).

Yesterday...easy to do. If you watched Southampton recently you set up to counter that or set up to exploit a weak spot. They then changed how they had been playing but still only had 1 shot on target all half and any proper changes we could do were somewhat restricted just after they scored.

A good manager though will spot where things are going wrong and be able to change it. Did it last week after Liverpool started the 2nd half on top and did it yesterday with 10 men on the pitch.

In the last 7 days we have seen the difference between a good manager and a poor one.

Unsurprisingly, Lops has got us to the top of the Premier League form table.
