I'd say Neves had more power as it looks to me Dennison was more inclined to place his free kicks.

Agreed.

Love how short the run up for Dennison's were.

Robbie's goal against Southall (possibly the best keeper in the world at the time) is unreal.

Today's update:

Alex Rae: Wolves Goals

Alex Rae signed for £1.2 million from Sunderland in September 2001 where he quickly became a fan favourite and an important member of the Wolves team for three seasons from 2001/02 to 2003/04.

He was exactly the type of midfielder that Wolves needed in the mid-to-late 1990s but failed to nab.

His most famous goal was his superb effort in the 81st minute of the 2nd Leg Promotion Play Off Semi-Final against reading. A goal that clinched Wolves place in the Play-Off Final.

He won the Player of the Season award in his first season, and inexplicably, didn't win it in Wolves 2003/04 Premier League campaign that ended in relegation where he was outstanding throughout the season, finishing as overall top goal scorer for the season with 8 goals.

He played 119 games for Wolves and scored 21 goals in total.

Today's update:

David Kelly: Wolves Goals

David Kelly signed for £750,000 from Newcastle United in June 1993 where he established himself as Steve Bull's main striking partner for 2 seasons.

In season 1994/95 he was Wolves' leading goalscorer with 22 goals breaking Steve Bull's streak of 8 consecutive seasons of being the club's top scorer.

His winning goal against Leicester City in the FA Cup 5th Round tie at Molineux in February 1995 was voted the best Wolves goal of the 1990s by the members of this forum.

Early in 1995/96 he lost his place to Don Goodman and left for Sunderland in September 1995 for £900,000.

He played 103 games for Wolves and scored 36 goals in total.

Quite liked Kelly seemed to me to be one of those strikers who didn't have any particular strengths but always scored consistently.
Maybe part of the reason I liked him was he usually played with his shirt outside his shorts, always been attracted to scruffy buggers.
Have a vivid memory of him laying into Mark Burke (verbally) for pulling out of a challenge and being a bit of a fanny.

Not that I’m an expert in 1990s Wolves matters but it looked like Kelly was a fine header of the ball and he had quick instincts in the box.

His departure after only 2 season seems a little odd from the outside looking in. Was there something else in play ?

I loved Don Goodman but really was he what we needed ? I would have thought more strength in midfield say a younger Alex Rae.

Yeah he was good in the air and a decent goal poacher.
It's probably a simplistic view but I loved having 3 strikers like Bully, Kelly and Goodman in the team at the same time.

Many fans never really took to him due to him being very vocal previously about being an Albion fan and an ex Walsall hero at a time when there was still a rivalry with them (tragically) when he was there - they were above us in the pyramid. I think not being Andy Mutch played a part too.
