The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

That's a definite contender, though I should probably play AC2 first.

RDR is definitely worth getting into, it's a great game.

Yeah, play AC2 first. They're both great fun, and you can get them for cheap nowadays. Don't bother with the first one though.

And RDR rocks - easily my favourite Rockstar game.

I actually have AC2, played it for a while and got a bit stuck/got into playing something else. I should really go back to it!

It's a close run thing between RDR and LA Noire for me as to my favourite Rockstar game. Both are brilliant, though RDR has more to it.

I liked the first AC just fine... I've read the second one gets rid of a lot of the mindless BS like listening in on convos, etc. though, which is certainly appealing. It was like $5 so I figured I may as well start at the beginning of the franchise.

Every single aspect of the original was improved for the sequel. I thought the original was a great idea, but the package was badly thought out, far too repetitive and quite frustrating in places.

But I'm a big fan of AC2 and AC:B. Both superb games.

Not long started New Vegas. Picked it up in the steam sale couple weeks ago, was £13 for Vegas and the first 2 DLC. Bout 10hours in and enjoying it so far, just have no clue what's happening in the main story. Got to the casino did that bit of story, now some blokes ran off and I have to go get him but not entirely sure what's happening or why I'm even confused. Just feels like i've missed a bit of story somewhere. Still apart from that, enjoying the freedom of seeing something in the distance and checking it out. Loved that about Fallout 3 to the point I never got round to completing it, although the story was pants.

Also been playing Test Drive Unlimited 2 (was £5 in steam sale :D). Fantastic game. Just love getting a top end car and having the freedom of 2 islands to drive around in going where ever I please. Now just waiting for Deus Ex HR to come out.

Don't worry about New Vegas Psycho - it'll all come together eventually however you approach it. It's a great game.
Expect 80...90 hours commitment!

My advice would be that if you think a quest is an important part of the story, leave it for a while and go and complete some of the other quests. Not only do you level up your character quicker, you also get to unlock more map locations quicker which makes fast travelling more accessible. And HW is right, I took 90+ hours to complete the game, but I now need to go back and try it a different way as there are a whole bunch of quests that I couldn't do because of the alliances I made. It definitely has replay value.

My first season at St Pauli playing become a legend on PES2011 ended with just goal difference seperating me from title winning Bayern, after the final game they told me they were going to make me captain, lets just hope they offer me a new improved contract for next season.

Having completed New Vegas, LA Noire, Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption, I'm seriously in need of something new to play. I'm playing my Madden NFL Franchise a bit, but I want a good meaty game to get into. Any recommendations?

Toon - Do you play PC games? The Witcher 2 would be right up your street. It's brilliant!

By the way - just started LA Noir - did you play all the DLC as well? Is it worthwhile purchasing it?

I have no time to play these games but always likes the look of the Witcher games. i think it was you HW who wrote about it on the mix. My nephew who is pretty good at these games says the combat on W2 is quite awkward.

I know you like the Elder Scrolls - did you play the Baldur's gate series?

I did try Baldur's Gate series nimrod but I never really got on with it. Not sure why really!

I tend to be really fussy with my game playing - if I don't like it within 10 minutes then I know I never will!

I can't wait for Skyrim!

I don't play PC games, my computer is too old and crap!

I have played some, but not all of the DLC for LA Noire: 'The Naked City' and 'A Slip of the Tongue' cases. I haven't played the other 2 new cases. The ones I have played are both good cases, but don't add anything different to the game, just more of the same. Which is good, but whether it's worth paying for an extra hour or 2 of investigation I'm not so sure.

Back on Blops. I really am a glutton for punishment.

Toon - loads of newbies have started playing - scope for plenty of killing if you're lucky, though the amount of camping cockends has increased. TDM isn't too bad though.

I just know I'm going to end up getting MW3. As well as Battlefield 3.

my psn tag is l_silvani feel free to add me. Only ever play FIFA though

My ps3 is locked up for a few months, as are all my games. :(

Started Modern warfare 2 today and the campaign is pretty amazing.

Sorry Toon - I'm getting MW3.

Possibly as well as BF3. But I can't not get this.

Wow.

Impressive. Shame I am a PS3 player rather than Xbox with you guys!
