The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

I think that's a pretty fair assessment about the slightly repetitive nature of the cases, though as Balloonatic says it does change a bit further on in the game. I'd also probably give it an 8.5/10 or maybe even 9/10 just for the fact that it is trying to do something different and break the stranglehold of 1st and 3rd person shooters.

One other thing I will say about it - the driving aspects of GTA (which were far more important than those in LA Noire) handled like a poor driving game, and the combat like a sluggish 3rd person shooter.

By taking out a hefty chunk of such sections, LA Noire can focus more on the story and the environment which is what Rock Star games do best.

IS this new Borgia s thing on sky the same as the one in Assasssins creed? Makes me look forward to it even more although I guess ezio won't be making an appearance!

Yup - one and the same.

Great game - I've really enjoyed the last two. Have you seen footage of the next one? It looks amazing.

Yet to go onto multiplayer though - must see what it's like at some point. Oh, and start the Da Vinci DLC which I've got a code for.

Also have you played this dlc? Is it worth getting? I just finished the game yesterday!

Anyone on here done the Sebastien Vettel Challenge on GT5? They've made some make belief car thats sort of an F1 car with a bit of extra body work, looks a bit like a cross between an F1 car and a Le Mans prototype, thats friggin mental! Frequently hitting 200+mph around Nurburgring but i just cant react quick enough to drive it flat out and get near the target times.

No, not yet - I'm currently enjoying LA Noire but will get back to AC:B soon.

Have you tried the multiplayer? Still to give that a go.

I'm currently on 28 hours of gameplay on New Vegas and I've only played through about 12 quests! I think I'll rack up close to 100 hours if I do it properly! Awesome game. Enjoying it even more than Fallout 3, if that's possible.

I've undersold myself, I'm at 39 hours of play. Struggling with a couple of quests and can't decide which faction to support. Also not sure whether to stick with Cass as my companion or find another (I could go back to Boone, he was a companion for a while). Any recommendations HW?

I played most of the game with Rex and Lily - not for any particular reason. I just liked them! Boone is a bit overpowered in my opinion.

My loyalty to certain factions ebbed and flowed throughout the game although I really liked The White Glove Society a lot!

I haven't even met Rex or Lily!! How has that happened?!

The White Glove Society were interesting until you find out their dark secret! I feel like I should dislike the NCR but I don't...

Ok, I have now met Rex and Lily, and as much as I like Rex I think I'll stick with E-De as I'm trying to finish the 'E-De My Love' Quest.

Ordered LBP2 for less than £14. Awesome.

Quite enjoying Wipeout HD on the PS3 (one of the freebies from PSN downtime). I don't really like driving games, but it's bloody good fun, and looks quite glorious.

New Vegas is just awesome. It is simply huge! I've practically abandoned the main quest for about a week as I unlocked the 'Explorer' perk which shows every location on the map and I have spent all my time since trying to visit every one of them. It takes bloody ages, even with fast travelling! Great game, thoroughly enjoying it, and highly recommended.

Toon - JP and Codfather miss you. They say it's been too polite without us, and they're missing the profanities.

I'll be back on Black Ops once I've completed New Vegas. So that'll be about another month the way things are going! I notice you haven't been on it in a long time. Just needed a break?

To be honest once Battlefield 3 is out, I doubt you'll see me on any CoD game. Black Ops will probably be trade bait...
