The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

I bought Ganso, Neymar, Rodwell, Ninis, and Sakho in my first season with the fresh new team. Granted, I sold most of the wolves... After that it's easy. I only keep about 4-5 reserves.

You buy guys that aren't great yet but have really high potential in your first year or two, then build them up. That way you don't spend much and quickly build the roster with quality players. In the meantime you're getting tons of money for winning the league, cups, europe, etc. Then you can start buying really expensive players and selling off your lower graded players every year. That team up there was something like 10 seasons in. If you just want to try building a roster you could always make a separate save game and sim through half the season. :D

Roster is not used in football, call it squad or something, just thought I'd tell you;)

Started Fallout New Vegas last night at 10.30. I looked at the clock at what seemed half hour later, it was 1.45. I'm now tired at work. Very good game.

All of my FIFA 11 stuff got corrupted... All 8 game saves, all rosters, multiple players dropped from the game... Uncountable hours of work and roster team building is undone. All I did was adjust my LAM/RAM to be LW/RW and it screwed EVERYTHING up. :(

I guess it's time to start playing Crysis.

I've suddenly discovered The Saboteur from 2009.

A lot of mixed reviews but I love it!

Unfortunately I'm now playing The Saboteur, Red Dead, Oblivion, Divinity 2 and Fallout New Vegas.

Plus I've got 20 books on my Kindle to read......

Why (and how) do people expect me to work as well?

HELP!

Anyone (local to Wolves) got an XBox 360 (just the console) for sale? Just got the dreaded RROD on mine!

Cheers.

Unfortunately don't have one to sell. However if its an original xbox (which I think are all white ones), has 3 flashing lights and bought within last 3 years it should still be under warranty and will be repaired for free (apart from £5 postage UPS). Mine went last year and mine luckily ticked all boxes. Took 2 weeks came back good as new and even got a free month xbox live. Doesn't help playing any games soon unfortunately but alot of people I know didn't reliase they extended the warranty to 3 years if you have 3 lights.

From their warranty page

Original Xbox 360 console with three flashing red lights or error E74: Three years from the console purchase date (not applicable to the Xbox 360 S console)

So providing the it's not over 3 years old and is not an S model (which I think are the black Slim ones) you should be ok for a free repair.

Have to go through their solutions page first http://support.xbox.com/en-us/Pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/flashinglights.aspx if none of that fixes it you'll eventually be able to post a repair request thing.

Mine went September so nothing much should have changed since then. Took 2 weeks and you can follow the process online while they have it. Won't be able to play anything but if it all works out it'll save you paying for a new/used xbox.

If its outside the warranty you may as well have a crack at fixing it yourself, go on youtube theres plenty of walkthroughs for various different methods of trying to get the solder joints to sort themselves out and you only need 2 torx screwdrivers to take the box apart.

I've thought about getting that since I'm bored of all my games at the moment! Haven't been on much for a few days, just don't feel like playing. I might go back and start New Vegas again, having finished Bioshock 2 for a second time the other day...

Anyone got Homefront yet? From the review i've read its a pretty standard FPS with a shortish single player mode but the storyline makes it very playable and the multiplayer gives it a whole new life when you're done with that.

Yep, beat me to it. It's easy enough to do. Give it a shot before dropping coin on a new one.

xbox are very good.

They will send a courier to collect, fix it, get the courier to drop it back and give you a months Xbox Live for the trouble.

My suggestion: buy a PS3 they tend not to break!

Going to put a curse on my xBox here - Had mine for around 3 years and not one problem with it (apart from the fact I am shit on most things on it)

My xbox died after about 3 years, but it was modded so warranty service isn't available anyhow.

I'm very happy with my PS3 but unfortunately a number of games just don't look anywhere near as good on it.

Mine broke at same time as my xbox :(. Just failed to read any disc at all. Could get a replacement Blu-ray drive for £40 off ebay yet when I phoned Sony they wanted £130, absolute joke. Bought a new one instead

Need another Black Ops session. It's been almost a week!
