The Velotard Thread.

Chilly is fine, it's the wind that causes pain. I gave great consideration to quitting at 20km but hung on for 50.

Yeah, you're right. As long as it's not too icy I've got enough layers and clothing options to cope with an hours' ride. Wind is the worst.

Excited to debut my new Sealskinz Halo Overshoes with built-in flashing heel light!

Is that a posh alert?
agree with you both, wind is a torment, and it is always against you, no matter which direction you head....
have needed a beanie under the helmet last week and today. bitter of a morning.

Agree wholeheartedly with SLA. Would it work for buses/coaches too?

Looks a worldie of a product mate. Hope the development of it goes well!

as per the annoy thread, gotta puncture! had to push the bike home.
pumped the tyre up, just checked and its flat as a pancake gain.
so trying to find where the puncture repair kit is. that said, probably ought get a spare inner tube in case it's fucked, or for future emergencies.

so, what size inner tube? well, according to the spec of the bike, they're 700x28 tyres (whatever that means):
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-520-flat-bar-road-bike-sora-id_8322799.html

assumed that'd mean they were 28 inch tyres/tubes.
inner tube sizes lists wheel sizes as 26, 27.5 and 29 inches.
how do i figure out what bloomin size inner tube?

700x28 is the size in mm(700 mm diameter,28mm is the tyre width),standardish size for racers, halfords will do em if you're near one,but any bike shop will have em just look for 700x25-30 or similar and they'll fit

Saddle bag and two spare inner tubes every time your go out on your bike Warren!

Oh, and 700c inner tubes are what you need. 28c (this indicates the tyre width) are ideal for your tyres, but 20-25c are far more common and will be absolutely fine as I imagine you're not running at 100+psi.

Agree with Machin, get a saddle bag, tubes, tyre levers and a multitool in it,sooner or later they'll all come in handy, and get a decent pump, lezyne are worth a look,or a topeak morph

Or, you could buy some anti-puncture fluid and some CO2 canisters to save space and weight.

Thanks all,

will pop over to the on site bike place tomorrow. Driving a car is a drag man!

2 weeks since I was last on my bike. Blowing out my arse this morning. Annoying how quickly your fitness disappears.

In other news, ordered this for my birthday present (from the missus):

Quite possibly the coolest jersey EVER!

And finally, Strava now seems to calculate distance to a second decimal point.
