The Transfer Thread 2024/25 - Everything Not Wolves

I'm sure we aren't on our own, but I don't know how we can't employ someone competent ourselves to negotiate deals. It's a level above agent fees

I'm sure I read that Leeds had £18m in the same period...in the Championship

Think he was very much involved in the JSL deal
And reportedly in France on Agbadou.

What does Matt Hobbs do? As far as I can see it appears that he looks after the market in southern England eg GON, Pond, Holman and Johnstone.

Mendes helping us get 2 very good players is ok though? Rather than they whoever signed Johnstone & Doyle

Not his player though. You are paying him to be an intermediary because we don't employ people competent enough to do it for ourselves

not sure we have anyone currently employed competent enough to know what we need in such a role and recruit them though.

I know for a fact that Valdir Cardoso (Mendes' right hand man) had a big part to play in our January business at Shi's request.

Mendes was also asked to persuade Danso (who had no interest in coming) and facilitate the transfer. I assume he then engineered the Tottenham move.

It's part and parcel of Fosun's involvement though isn't it. Mendes is a key tenet in their football venture.
That's too simplistic. We used him extensively for the first 5 years or so for players in his stable and are now using him/his employees to do roles most clubs would do internally

They're a joint venture - they teamed up with Gestifute before they even bought a club. Wolves are a conduit for them to do business with Gestifute rather than Gestifute an aide to Wolves' business.

Yeah I don't need the explanation. It stinks though and is one of the many elements of our ownership structure which holds us back, unless you (not you) are still in the 'thankful' period
