Sounds like a very good signing then. Why are Real Madrid selling, did he want to leave? Looked like a player worth keeping.

They've got Marcelo and Ferland Mendy with supposedly another top prospect breaking through in Miguel Gutierrez.

If he's up to that level they've got the buy back clause and first refusal for the sake of £10m.

The number of players Real are churning out nowadays is astonishing.

John Paskin would be an improvement on Joelinton.

Reading back through this thread and saw this post, was surprised you remembered him as I thought he had played for us before your time and so checked Wiki. I hadn't remembered that we signed him from the Albion. Less than three years after signing Bully for a similar amount - how differently they fared!

I saw Joelinton home and away last season and Paskin too many times 30 years ago. I think the comparison is valid... Honourable mentions of equally go out to Mike Small, Robert Taylor, Ray Hankin (in his Wolves years) and on more than one occasion Norman Bell

If and its a big if, Man Utd land Sancho we need to see the very best of Fabio and he needs to hit the ground running, which is a huge pressure on the lad. Bale to Spurs Thiago to Liverpool, Evertons business this window has all been great for those clubs and made top 6 even harder. Now we are out of the league cup at least we only have the league and FA cup to consider so 44 games Max. All in our own hands.

You've lost me there, not sure what relevance Sancho to Utd has on Fabio's development. Surely he'll only play cameo's initially

It’s the improvement in the squad. All the teams mentioned have and whilst I may get a few pellets for this we have invested in potential and a bit of an unknown. It could be genius but he could equally fail to develop. Sancho is already developed as is Bale as is Thiago etc. Sorry if I was cryptic

Telles to Utd is getting closer. I don’t think we were ever really likely to get him.

Barca trying to flog Riqui Puig. Fucking idiots. Hands down the worst club going when it comes to transfer dealings.

Does that mean Messi doesn't like him?

@SkySportsPL
Crystal Palace have made a formal bid of £19m plus £6m in add-ons for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

Steve Parish
@CEO4TAG
We have asked Sky to take this down
as it is a total fabrication from start to finish.
We have not made a bid formal or informal.

Good to see when clubs call out bullshit

Best bit was the full Sky story said Hodgson had been an admirer of Brewster since his stint as Liverpool manager when Rhian was in the Liverpool academy. When Hodgson was Liverpool manager, Brewster was in the Chelsea academy.

He'd also have been 10 then :icon_lol:

That rumbled on overnight. Sky changed their story to Palace were considering a bid of £19m was plus £6m add ons and Parish went postal.

Leeds seemingly admitting they've made a Koch up as they're signing Diego Llorente from Sociedad. €20m.

In the mehest transfer of all time. Meh Burnley are buying meh Dale Stephens from meh Brighton for £6m
