The Transfer Thread 2019/20 - everything not Wolves

He's talented but he'd basically be a potential upgrade on Saiss (he isn't as good as Romain at the moment). And Saiss doesn't play much.

He isn't better than any of the regular three starters in CM.

Hence the word squad in my post.

Yeah but I can't get on board with this concept. Don't sign players who are worse than what you have. I don't want just numbers on the books, it makes no sense to me.

He seems capable of dribbling through players which we do lack in midfield at the moment. Dendoncker is the closest we have but even he isn't going to carry the ball past many people.

If Billing were in our squad he's a player we'd be saying we should look to upgrade. Same reason that in a parallel universe we wouldn't sign Saiss or Bennett now.

I suppose at 23 he's still got time to develop and perhaps add a bit more to his game, think that's the only way signing a player who isn't strong enough to immediately trouble the first 11 becomes justifiable, but in terms of style he's probably most similar to Dendoncker of the current options and they're similar age he's going to have to out develop him to replace him rather than succeed him after a few years as understudy.

Bale off to his Chinese retirement home with a £1m a week to keep him happy.
Are you seriously knocking bale for not turning down one million a week? He'll be worth quarter billion by the time hes retired

You're obsessed with money.

He's already earned far more money than most people could ever dream of and missed out on a fair chunk of football whilst being pushed to the margins at Real, you'd think he might want to make the most of the last few years of his peak before he starts to tail off but moving to somewhere China just makes it look like he's already given up.

Is golf a big thing over there?

I think he'll regret not the difference between £175m and £250m when his career is over.

Well we need a squad of 22. Or a few more Billing would make that 22. That's all. I don't get the argument of not improving your squad only improving your first team. Our squad depth is a concern. Our bench last years actually weakened the team when you brought on a sub even if the player replaced was knackered. If wolves buy 5 players who sit on the bench but improve it yet can't quite command a regular place that's cool by me. Strength in depth for a 60 game season.

But Billing would weaken our team if we brought him on?

Get players in, that's fine by me. They've all got to be either capable of starting though, or genuine young prospects (not 23, try five years and more younger) who we can develop.

Billing wasn't even a fixture in a very poor Hudds team. I quite like him but I wouldn't see the point in us signing him, not with where we're going.

For me billing is better than Saiss. That's just me. If Donk were injured Billing is a better replacement that our current squad thats all. And 15 mil is decent value in today's nuts market.

Disagree on Saiss but that's personal preference.

Bournemouth's ceiling is much lower than ours. They still give Surman and Gosling regular games and they're both shite.

The reality is a lot of footballers prefer money and lifestyle to football. Bale doesnt have anything to prove an extra 80-100m is not exactly peanuts regardless of how rich you are

Now. Doesn't mean he won't regret it in the future. These are only predictions, maybe he'll be completely content. Fair play to him if so. Still seems like he is in his prime and could still have major success (such as never won the premier league)

It depends on your outlook, personally I would prefer a small village in swiss alps over a metal trophy on the mantlepiece but thats just me

arsenal agreed to 80m deal for pepe... yet they refused to pay that much for zaha? Doesnt make much sence to me
