The Transfer Thread 2018/19 - everything not Wolves

He's been pretty average for Lazio in the last couple of seasons, hence why he didn't start for them.

Apparently they're also signing Bernard who's left Shakhtar.

----------------Fabianski---------------

Fredericks----Diop------Rice------Cresswell

--------Obiang---Kouyaté---Wilshere--------

-----Anderson---Arnautovic----Yarmolenko-----

Looks alright although Arny is rumoured to be off (which will fund a chunk of this spending).

On Everton, they have so much shit to get rid of :icon_lol:

All of Stekelenburg, Martina, Pennington, Galloway, Williams, Besic, Klaassen, Bolasie, Mirallas, Niasse and Sandro could easily be chucked without even thinking about it, Jagielka is about 62 now too, Baines is four years past his best, McCarthy is always injured and Schneiderlin doesn't want to know half the time. I shudder to think how much that lot are costing them for virtually zero output.

They have at least binned Captain Waz so there's a huge chunk off the bill I suppose. He's still on £300k a week you know. Just all of United, Everton and now DC United chip in together to pay it.

It all depends on Pellegrini and how he has them set up. Good players are no good if the manager can't get them playing. See Moyes (Utd) and Hodgson (Liverpool).

Blind gone back to Ajax.

Think he would've been a good option for Wolves, good solid partner next to Neves in the centre of the park or could've offered a more robust alternative at LWB if needed, could even fill it at centre half from time to time.

Wouldn't have minded him in a back three but we have Boly on the left side. Ajax is a good move for him, him and De Jong should be a decent partnership (if they hold on to De Jong!)

I always thought United looked a more fluent faster team with Blind at the back they were capable of moving through the field because of his positive forward passing.

Yeah, but he isn't actually a very good defender. Too slow and too easily bullied.

The majority of the games I saw him United were on the front foot so the defensive side of his game was generally hidden. In sides that United bullied themselves he was just the type required. I guess we could level question marks about Coady in the same respect as we look forward to the new season.

Liverpool have put a £62m bid in for Roma keeper Alisson

Fucking hell.

Thought he looked shaky enough for Brazil to be honest. Daft money for someone on the back of a single full season in Serie A.

Juve signing Mattia Perin for £12m shows the value that can be had over there.

We're surely getting into 'more money than sense' territory now, aren't we? Fosun are going to need very deep pockets if we're ever going to get among the top six, that's certain.

Doubt that we are worried about that just yet - maybe in a year or so, but hopefully we can amass some funds from the PL £s flowing in to make an assault at some point

Will need careful management as there is a gulf between that group & the rest

He's worth nothing near that. Can't control his area, flaps at crosses and his distribution is fucking abysmal. Kicks it straight out of play or puts his defence in trouble so often.

I thought Butland might go there but it appears not. In fact he's running out of destinations; City, Arsenal, United, Spurs, Liverpool (if this goes through), Chelsea (if Courtois stays), Everton, Burnley, Wolves, West Ham, Palace, Bournemouth, Leicester, Newcastle and Southampton won't be after a #1 keeper. If they were at the end of last season then they've sorted it out now and he hasn't been the answer. Could he end up staying at Stoke?

Not if the top six keep buying shit because they play for "x" club

and to follow that up - "Liverpool have agreed a fee of about £66.8m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson"

It is about investing wisely. Buying players like Neves at £15million (approx), rather than players like Allisson at £66mill.
